    19GSX70 Buicks really are better

Turned 69 a week ago. Started driving in the mid 50's when the new small block chevy changed hotroding for ever. went thru the 60's as performance increased. Had a 66 427 vette then a 67 riveria then a 70 GSX. Watched during the 70's as performance went downhill then as electronics came on in the 80's performance took off again and i got an 87 GN. 50 years of hot rods and it only gets better.

Soon to be 45, not to hijack a thread but when I dream at night I am still 17. Anyone else not acting their age when asleep? I can't do all the things I could when I was a kid. But having a 6 yr old kid and a wife more than 13 years younger makes me feel almost as young as punching the throttle and hearing the engine roar. People at my church who are also my age thought I was in my early 30's. I also own an 05 Buick Ranier with the 300hp 5.3, low restriction exhaust really roars when I punch it and it will make the perfect tow vehicle taking my 68 to the drags.
I think it is really neat there are so many different age groups of Buick fans out there, I love listening to the old timers, and I feel compelled to help those who are still learning. Wish I had a mentor when I was young.

21....born 1988. It's odd that I like older cars, but I'm glad I do! Otherwise I would be a shameful ricer. :puzzled:

Time flys. Get used to it.

Plant a tree if you want to see it grow tall. The longer you wait the less time you have to watch it. That's a metaphor. It means, do now what you want to mature in your lifetime. Plant the right seeds and have a good life.

I'm 63, and bought my first Buick at age 16 - 1952 Special coupe - for $25. I've had 27 Buicks (I think) including a '37 sedan, '49 Woody, '59 Invicta convertible, '61 Invicta bubbletop, 2 '62 Special convertibles, '63 Skylark convertible, '95 Riviera, and currently have my second ;69 Skylark convertible. I was never smart enough or patient enough to hang on to the rare ones, but this last Skylark is a keeper.

44 and still going. I grew up with old Buicks, but they weren't considered classics then, just good used cars. My dad and grandfather drove '60s cars (Buicks and Chevys) into the late '70s.
