fourfiftyfive My car is a mess........

Well, I turned 21 as of october 3rd last year. Bought my first and only buick ('69 skylark) at 17, drove it for a while, and started tearing things apart in the fall of 07... now its a mess but it'll be worth the time and money when its done.

Its more fun owning a buick, as a member of my age group, since when I say my toy is a '69 buick skylark people my age look at me like I have three heads... if they only knew... then theres the select few who know a few things and show some respect. The best ones were the kids in my high school who thought that if it wasn't a camaro or mustang, or if it didn't have "VTEC", it couldn't be fast... after the smoke cleared in the parking lot they knew better... A few of them took a ride in my buick and were scared s**tless, and a couple of them had to get a beat-down from my caprice before they finally shut up....
I wouldn't actually race anyone in the buick- if you saw how they drove you wouldn't have either! But the caprice took care of 'em!

I was born very late in 1964, basically the last month of the baby boomer era (updated baby boomer since originally they cut it off at 1960, but then moved it through 1964). 1964 was an election year, Olympic year, year of the Dragon for the Chinese folks. Great year (at least in my opinion). My Buick is only three years younger than I am, but I always really liked the mid '60's to early 70's GM cars growing up.

Almost didn't make it to 30... friggin dirtbikes.. still got the bike though, lucky I don't have hand controls in my Buicks.. .. I made it to 40 and was able to pull off the best rate possible for my life insurance... wife, boys and a farm on top of working full time.... hard to believe I'm a "grown up".... if your in your 20's enjoy them.... 30-40 was a blurr...

Sounds similar. About didn't make it to 24 after a bad dirt bike wreck. Got into a power line that a tree fell on one night a few years later. Rolled over a loaded truck on the farm that mashed the top down on me in my early 30's. Crazy driving for almost 15 years gave me a few more close calls. Almost 40 now and I feel lucky to be here some days. The 30's have gone by so fast.

The old saying "I'd taken better care of myself if I knew I was going to live this long"...lol.. broke my back twice on the bikes.. first time was a compression fracture to the lower lumbar, second time was the same deal at the t-5 ...hurts when I do dishes... really... and a couple knee surgeries....but I'm still better off than others around me..

I'm especially happy today though. I got a set of m/t street et's.. I bet the weather is not going to cooperate on wedsnday though.. that should keep me in the 13's .. I hope to have consistant 13.8-13.9.

1970, the peak of the muscle car era. Woohoo!!

Now I'm pushing 40 and yes, the 30s flew by. Holy crap.

No dirtbikes to blame, but I just had knee surgery, too. We'll just say it had to do with lots of beer and the sense of immortality one gets from being in his early 20s and, well, lots of beer.

I kind of thought the ages would be biased a bit younger...
