I was born in '92. So I guess that means I'm young on the scale of Buick owners. :pp

Had my Buick since age 14 and been collecting parts since the ripe age of 16, when i was old enough to drive around and spot cars in fields and the woods :)

I'm 63. The house is paid for. I get a retirement check each month and don't even have to set the alarm. I can take my vacation trip whenever I damn well please. I can work on my truck at 10 AM Monday. I can take a nap at 3PM. Any of you who are concerned about turning 30 or 40 obviously don't have enough to worry about. My age is as good as it gets. And I haven't even filed for social security yet.

Haha, im from january of '90, and i know what you mean. Just started college, i like it a lot more than high school. So far...

Got my first buick when i was 12... Well, my brother bought it, but always with the intent of selling it to me. I finally paid it off from allowances and yard work money when i was 15. :TU:

(i have bought various other cars since i started driving and its pretty bad when the oldest car you have is the most reliable... what am i thinking? its just because its a BUICK!)

As someone born in 1945 I'm really glad to see that the 30/40 somethings in the majority. I grew up with these cars and love em, I more than happy to pass the torch to a younger crowd to keep the flame alive.

I also have a 31 Model A and that crowd is nearly dead and the new crowd isn't into resoring as much as street rodding, and that's ok with me too.

Now if somebody would just make all the parts, ala Chevelles, then I wouldn't have to go around looking for stuff to spend $$ refurbishing.

From the chart ,there are many older than me, but i was born in 1933, and still have a Buick street rod (37 coupe with 455 Buick power) and a 72 GS to harrass kids that don't know any better:Do No: :Do No:

One of my car buddies has a Buick '37 Opera Coupe, the one with the 2 spare tire holders on the running boards in front of the doors, although I'm sad to report it isn't Buick powered. BUT, we (his car buddies) keep harassing him about it in hopes he'll put a 455 in it. :Dou: Time will tell. I'm an oldie too, but still behind you in the experience of life tho. :TU: Jim :bglasses:

I'll hit the big 54 this year...starting to feel it, too. Still haven't started on restoring the 71 Skylark, though I have been buying stuff for it along the way. Got to get away from the 19 days on, 2 days off shift.

Wow, I think I was conceived in a Buick in 1959. Nah, just kidding. My dad owned his first Buick in 1974. It was a beautiful 1971 Buick Skylark. It was a trade-in and had only 16k miles on it. The salesman drove the car to my parents' place, some 40 miles north of the dealership in West Vancouver. The dealership is no longer there. It was Royal Pontiac and Buick on Marine Drive. The salesman must have been very confident in securing a sale- he knew my parents' taste. He had previously sold them a 1960 Pontiac Stratochief, which we still were driving. What an improvement over the 6 cylinder Pontiac!
My mom and dad still don't know to this day, that after washing and cleaning the Skylark, I'd take it out for a drive on the highway, while they weren't home. I was too young to have a driver's license, yet. Our car was definitely the cleanest in our town.
Anyway, I've got way too much to recount in this forum. I just know, it's like stepping into a time machine, when I'm driving my 1971 GS 455. So age really is a non-factor, in this hobby we all enjoy. But I'm glad the poll revealed some great stories we could share in.

    Raise a little hell,

    Nando.
