Re: 1971 gs conv. and trailer stolen Willie, I will keep my eyes and ears open for you!!! I was at a carshow yesterday in Monroe and people were talking about it and how bad they feel. So the word is out...
I am saddened to hear the loss of your car,Willie. I had no idea that it was missing until you called me. I sure hope the spineless scum that stole your car get theirs. We'll have to keep our eyes peeled and see if anyone is going to be selling any Buick parts in the next couple of months.Let's pray that your car shows up unharmed.
I posted it with a picture on "allpar.com" and on "automotiveforums.com". I'm hoping that it helps you get your car back Willie. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=274842&referrerid=219589 http://www.allpar.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42674
I was in my local speed shop over the weekend, and a picture and information about the car being stolen were on the bulletin board. With the word getting out there this much, hopefully the car will be home safely soon.
Alot of criminals are pretty stupid! Remember the Cheap Street Chevelle? The cops caught the guy driving it around like his own! I mean come on! It was a famous car that alot of people would know on sight! I hope you are lucky enough to get it back. Have you thought about hiring private help? Some P.I's have lots of connections and most crooks have big mouths. Especially when a reward is involved. As with everyone else, I wiil keep my eyes open! Brian :blast:
I noticed a lot of cars have been stolen this season. Has anybody ever tried to mark the major components of thier cars with an initial in an inconspicious spot? I do this with some of the motorcycles I piece together after a dirtbike was stolen from a friend's house. It makes the piece much easier to identify in case the car was stolen and stripped. Anyway, hope you get your car back.
E-town swapmeet is this weekend, maybe some of us should scour the parts areas since parts are more likely to turn up there, then at an all buick meet (why go into the lions den when you can hide in a crowd). Just tell us what to look for and I know I'll be on it. Somebody mentioned the car craft cheep street chevelle in this post, well all I have to say is remember project heavy metal (496 ci. powered 65 impala)? they found the front fenders and other stolen parts in a swap meet, and you know at least half the guys at something like that read car craft.
Check North. Sorry to hear of your loss & I hope you get it back. You may want to consider notifying the authorities in Canada. It would not at all surprise me if this car found its way North. This car is too high profile to be here in the USA & is too nice to part-out. Good Luck & I hope they catch the scum that stole your car :blast: Larry DiStefano 71 gs stage 1 (now in the capable & honest hands of Jim Weise)
we could trade the "bad" guys (i think "bad" is an understatement) for hostages in Iraq. We could do that with killers, rapists, child molesters, etc. I hope ya find it. It's too nice to part out. :blast: :ball: I'll post it at www.hotrodders.com; about 10,000+ members, and www.gaownersclub.com; about 7-8,000 members. If it was in Car craft a few years back, it'd be neat to see it scanned on here.
I think I'm going to be sick! I read this post and honestly got a pit in my stomach. I don't know what I'd do if my Buick got stolen... It's not just a car when you've turned every nut and bolt yourself. It becomes a part of you. It represents the labor of your love. It's thieves like this, that cause normal people like us to snap - lose it - bring out the firepower :blast: . Just remember one thing - you need to draw the line in the sand if you find the guys that did this - keep the baseball bat in the garage, it's not worth it. But as for the thieves - you're cowards - the lowest form of human life. I hope you read this and it brings you a lifetime of ill fortune. You deserve it! To hell with the trailer and tools, but you better return the Buick!!!
Castration.... Thats all these people deserve... can't go on vacation because some a-hole wants to steal instead of building up their own! My car isnt in the best of conditions (1967 Riviera GS) and crap like this makes me wonder if i really should! I live in long beach and its already getting more than enough attention that id like. :af: :af: :af: :af: :blast: :blast: :blast: :blast: :blast: :blast:
alarm they make a gps locator for yours my niehbor has one so i think maybe u guys should put one. allso they make asystems where u have to press a button as u turn the key to start the cars
What a coincidence that you asked! HOT OFF THE PRESSES! Willie Wager reports that his formerly beautiful red ragtop was found by the police, abandoned in Camden, NJ. He's happy to have it back, but it's missing tons of stuff. Motor-GONE, Trans-GONE, Rear-GONE, Front brake rotors-GONE, GS Hood-GONE, 71 GS grille-BROKEN, Rear GSX spoiler-BROKEN. On a brighter note....top is intact, glass is unbroken, interior is pretty much complete, GS emblems and all. Bucket seats were unbolted, but still in the car. Local hoodlums spray-painted their idiotic "tags" all over the car, including on the interior, but Willie says it can be cleaned off. Besides the spray paint there's also a few dents in the body panels, but nothing major. He's now going to start putting a drivetrain together and hopes to have the car out next season. Mixed emotions at hearing this news, obviously. I'd still like to kill somebody over this. Oh Well, maybe somebody else will kill them over something else. Good Luck to Willie as he rebuilds his beloved Buick. :TU:
w-o-w !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds to me like we should start lookin' over our shoulder for someone who needed ( B-U-I-C-K ) parts !!!!!! Specifically a WHOLE DRIVETRAIN...maybe we should start lookin' at anyone who is now "MAGICALLY" running in the 10s with BUICK POWER !!!!! ***Our Buick community is a close knit one.....I'm bettin' we catch these S.O.B.s!!!!! GOOD LUCK WILLIE !!!!!! Your friend, RON
