    baytownbuick Not for sale.

My first was an 85 El Dorado.

Then I fell in love with the 72 Suncoupe my best friend bought.

I wasn't able to find another Suncoupe, but I did get my own 72 Skylark.

New guy here. My first car was a 1955 English Ford Angila. First Buick was a 1954 Special with a factory 3 speed trans on the tree. The Buick went to the scrap yard back in 1971.

My first Buick = My 1st Car - a '53 Buick, more bondo than metal, absolutely lousy mileage - about 4 or 5 mpg. I named her after her gas mileage - painted on the nose in teenager red nail polish on the Canary Yellow paint:

    P I G - M E

She died too soon. :blast: :blast: Bought her (for $50 + a $15 tire) in the summer of 1962 - gave her away in the spring of 1963. She NEVER failed to start - until that last fateful day.

My first car was a '64 gto conv, tri-power, 4 speed, posi, factory air. Actually began as the family second car, but they didn't get it back. Dad was a fun!! guy:beers2:. 2nd car a '68 firebird 400, 4 spd. Learned (partially) to drive in the family '59 buick 4 door, looooong time ago. First buick was an 86 wagon, then on to an '88 wagon. First real buick was a '62 skylark conv. for my daughter (in highschool), now down to my 62 special deluxe conv. still trying to get back together ( the parts shure come off easier than they go back on, don't they?) Almost done with building a new engine, then we'll see if i can remember where all those parts go.

    19GSX70 Buicks really are better

First one was a 49 olds coupe that i drove from home to Keesler AFB after basic training in 1958. First Buick was a new Plum 1967 Riveria GS which I then traded for a new 1970 White GSX that I still have.

The first car that I owned entirely myself (and not a parents/family errand type car) was a '77 four door Impala. That was the first year of that body style that Chevrolet kept for a long time (around 10 years as I recall). The car was already over 5 years old when I got it.

My dad had a '72 LeSabre back then which I drove occasionally. My current Buick is the first Buick I've owned.

Below is a generic pic of a '77 Impala to get an idea of the car I had. It was a very reliable car although not exactly "happening". lol

Did you have the square back windows? Those cars are sweet. One of my customers has one with the square back windows and I've been trying to get him to sell me that for years.

My first car was an 84 buick century. It was my mom's car and when she died I got it. I wiped that out in a wreck and my dad got the new car and gave me his 73 lesabre. I loved that car and drove the heck outta it for years. Then I had a 83 regal, and an 83 lesabre. That was a great car too, but I had all kinds of engine troubles with it. That was my last buick until I got the 73 in my avatar.

I had the standard rear window on my Impala. It also had a vinyl top which started to leak a bit after I had the car for several years. That said, it was a very reliable/solid car and I always liked it a lot.

My first car was a 1949 Nash Ambassador. It looked like an upside down bath tub. Ran about that well. too.

My first Buick was a white, black interior 1963 Skylark Custom two door hardtop. It had the 215 aluminum V8 with a BW T-10 4-speed.

My first car was a 1960 dodge with the old style 318 and didn't get into a Buick for several years when I got a 1962 Buick Invicta 4 door hardtop. That thing would run for a big car.

Mine is my avatar, a 1964 Buick Skylark that I got from my stepdad when I was 15. I stripped the roof and side chrome off it when I was doing body work. That car and I did a lot of growing up together in a short couple of years. My gosh, when I think back about all the stuff I did then - trail riding, hill climbing, pulling cars out of ditches in the winter (posi rear end from a '69 Chevelle), partying, cruising... holy cow.

Sadly I got rid of it back in '89 or so and got completely out of the car hobby for several years. STUPID!!! Oh well. I have another identical to that one plus A/C which I'm probably going to remove just to unclutter the engine compartment and that many parts are missing.

The cars we had back then... common sense is misplaced on youth. :spank:

    1969 Camaro, multiple '64-65 Buicks, 1967 Chevy 1/2 327, 1969 Impala 396, 1971 ElCamino 400sbc, 1968 Biscayne, 1967 'Cuda... shoot!!!

    :ball:
