Mine was a 63 dodge dart. Push button transmission on the left side of the steering wheel! Talk about weird!! Now my first Buick a 1972 Centurian. 455. And believe it or not, this 455 is the 455 that's in my 65 Skylark!!! That was 1986!! Where does the time go? Talk about holding onto stuff!! What's yours?
First car was a 1950 Chevy fast back. The first Buick I ever had was a 1950 Buick that a guy my parents knew gave me for cutting his grass. His grass was about two feet tall and I had to cut it with a sickle first then a push mower (the old type push mower with rotating blades). I'm sorry to say I used the 50 Chevy to tow the Buick to the junk yard were I got $15.00 for it. The Buick was straight as a string and had a rebuilt motor but I was only 16 at the time and a 50 Buick wasn't to cool then. Sure wish I had that Buick now!
1st car, 85 Ford Aerostar! never even drove it (legally) 1st buick, 1968 LeSabre 4dr sedan 0 options exept speed alert!
First Car 1980 Ford Fairmont Wagon - Turd Brown. 300 inline 6. Damn tough little engine. First I bought 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix- Still had plastic in the rear floorboard when I bought it with ~75k miles in 1997 First Buick 1972 Skylark- pulled out of a field 6 months after flipping the Grand Prix when I fell asleep at the wheel.
This is some funny stuff!!!!:TU: Turd brown!! I thought mine was bad! There's some bad first cars in the mix!!!:beer
My first car was a 1972 Buick Skylark Custom 2dr. Hardtop. It was Hunter Green and originally had a black halo vinyl top (By the time I got it,the top was long gone). It was a 350-4,with a column-shift automatic.I bought it from a friend in high school who was in the process of turning in into a GS tribute. He had installed a GS hood, bucket seats and console, and even went so far as to put in a 3:42 Posi.He lost interest in the car,and sold it to me.However,in addition to missing the vinyl top,it was also missing a transmission.Due to a string of unfortunate events,I lost the car before I ever got the chance to even get another transmission, much less drive it.(Long story). The first car I ever owned (that I actually drove daily) was a '71 Ford Torino 500.It also originally had a halo-style vinyl top,and was also green, and also was lost because the transmission died. What is it with me and (automatic)transmissions? As much as I enjoyed that car,and all the good times I had in-and with it-I never forgot about the Skylark.I can close my eyes even now,and see every detail inside and out. .....which probably explains a lot about why I'm here.
My first car was a truck, 1966 GMC short-bed stepside...painted all original and was powered by a 68 Buick 430-TH400..back in 1982. My first Buick is my current project, a 69 Skylark GS Tribute project.
First car ever WAS a Buick. 1966 Riviera GS in turquiose mist. Loaded. Buckets, console,p.seat, windows, antenna, trunk lid, stereo, cornering lights,a/c and best of all dual quads. Funny it had hubcaps and not the road wheels, though. I still have a couple of pics of it stored away.
My first car was a 67 Lesabre with a 340/4. In 1976, when I was 16. It was FAST! Well, it seemed like it was. 4 door. It was my mother's car, and she sold it to me for 300.00. I had a part time job at A&P, and I paid her 15.00 per week. It had an AM radio, and I added 4 pair of those 19.00 per pair wedge-shaped surface mount speakers all over the car. Remember those? Man, that thing sounded good! When I was a teenager, Rick Dees was the morning DJ at WSGN 610 in Birmingham...he didn't stay any longer than he had to on his way up.
First car: 1979 Mazda GLC. To be honest, not sure if I ever even had my name on it. Second car: 1963 Buick Riviera. Saw it sitting on a used dealer lot on State Street in Salt Lake City as I was test driving a Camaro from another used car dealer. Bought the Buick about an hour later.
My first car was a 1970 Chevelle 300 Deluxe 4 door sedan with a straight six in it. It was slower than the Second Coming, and leaked enough oil to keep the Saudis rolling in green. It was s--t green, and soon got the nickname of the Turtle. That was in 1980. It was a POS, and when I junked it I bought my first real car, a 1975 LeSabre Custom with a full load. Thanks to that first clunker, I've hated Chevys ever since.
Dude......mine was my step-father's '66 Dodge Polara convertible with bucket seats and console. 383 MAGNUM with AT. :TU: Then you all know my first Buick...........    Peace WildBill
