My first car was a '78 Buick Skylark that I inherited from my folks when mom got a "new" car. I got it to keep in 1990 or '91. Drove it for three more years before the floors were more patches than original metal, and dog-tracked so badly the rear tires wore unevenly. Still, I loved that car, sinister black with Cragar SS rims. Get this, the car never, ever wore radial tires, always good ol' bias plies!

First car I owned was a 73 Nova 350 SS, 3 spd stick, 2 bbl, dual exh, peg leg. I swapped in a 4spd Muncie, and added headers, and it was a decent college car.

My first Buick was not until 2001, when I bought my 68. I waited waaay too long. :Dou:

1st was a 69 Wildcat 2dr custom, blue ext, black bucket/console car, the only 69 wildcat I've ever seen with factory bucket/console. 2nd was a 68 GS350 when I was 15, and by 16 I bought a 2nd 69 wildcat 2 dr custom, red with white int, full load with ralleys and posi and rebuilt 430. When I was 17 I bought a 69GS400 then a 70GS and wedged a 430 in it. I built my first BBB when I was 14 with my Father watching over me......Chris

    Great Thread.

First car was a '73 green Gran Torino. The day after i turned 16 I got my first job washing dishes at a restaurant, saved up $500 and bought it myself. Had to, and still proud about that. That was in '82.

First Buick was a '71 Skylark Custom convertible. Also Green. The owner had a fender bender and only wanted $750...in 1992!! I replaced the fender and front bumber myself with parts found locally for about $90. Put a new top on it and drove it for about 3 years. We loved that car so much I just bought another one, red this time, in May.

My first car was a 1982 Rabbit that I still have sitting in the back of the garage.

My first Buick was my 1964 Wildcat convertible.

On a related note, my dad's first car was a 1950 Hudson Pacemaker that is also sitting in the back of my garage awaiting restoration.

His first Buick was a 1964 Special station wagon that was also the first car I ever rode in on the way home from the hospital. Unfortunately, that car is long gone, but I'd like to get one like it someday.

I learned to drive on an 81 Buick Regal. Bought a 69 Cutlass and drove it til it dies, not very long, and ended up buying the 81 Regal from my mom. Sold the 81 when I went I became a Marine. First duty station I got to, I bought an 84 Regal which I had the whole time I was in and for a year after. Man, now I wanna go out and find a Regal.

First car was a 1968 Plymouth Fury III four door, 225 slant six. Mel Gibson actually drove in it, as they considered using it in the Maine based movie, The Man Without A Face.

First Buick was a 1969 Skylark Custom 4dr HT, warmed over 350 with highway gears. Many roadtrips and fun times in that car. Bright red, but I was too green, and she's now resting in pieces.

And for the hell of it, current Buick is a '57 Special series 48, big block transplant as soon as possible.
