Sounds like it took you 25 years to get around to putting the engine back together... :error:

That's exactly what I was thinking, Larry. Apparently there are still some deals if you look hard enough!

And there is no way I'd start a thread on "how much do you have into your Buick?". :eek2: :Dou:

    1970 GS 455 bought late 1985/early 1986 for $800.

1987 Grand National bought/financed around Thanksgiving 1991 for $8,600 with nothing down or any trade in from the dealer I worked for at the time.

Bought my 72 GS 455 a year ago for $8000. It is a hobby level car, not numbers matching, but I do have the Sloan documents proving its pedigree. Thanks, Rudy E.

Is there anybody that actually spent some serious $$$ on a Buick?

    1989...'72 rust bucket Skylark, $300.00

1991...Original '70 Skylark, mint, $2500.00...still have it, but it is rough!

2004...numbers matching decent GS455...$17,000...holy crap. :Do No:

Now, what did you REALLY spend?

I spent $12,000 on my vert a few years ago. It wasn't a ton of money but it was pretty serious though because the money was supposed to go towards a kitchen remodel. :Brow:

My '76 century was boughten from an old lady at the "mississippi terrace", sort of like an old folks home, and the car had about 70 thousand original miles on it and the lady needed a microwave and a few other household items and we needed the car so in 1988(I wasn't even born yet, what am I talkin' about, lol) the car became part of our family, and was boughten for 500 bucks. It was not a rustbucket, and not a show car, but very presentable at the time.(have pictures to prove it) But now the car is a rustbucket and a mess, sadly. :(

I bought my 71 Skylark as a present to myself when I started teaching in 1998. The car was $3,000 and had 39,000 original miles, ran perfect, and only needed a paint job. Of course I added a lot more to it since then. :)

Bought my GSX in 1985 for $7200.00 and it raised more than a few eyebrows. If only they could still be purchased for that!
