I paid $1800 for my 71 Stage 1 auto coupe (matching numbers) back in 1986.
Then during a moment of temporary insanity, I sold it two years ago...

in the summer of 2009 I bought my 73 Electra for $20 yep 20 bucks drove it onto the trailer and after a little work been driving it ever since!

My T-Type was free but my Father gave it to me in 2004, he bought it new

The 69 Riv....well, I paid a lot more, probably fair market value but it was almost exactly the car I wanted and I've put more than several grand into it in the last 9 months, sold my last 2 vintage British motorcycles to get it and do it....worth every penny to me!

Re: Ten more like it please............

I had a pair almost like that! I bought my 1971 GS Stage 1 in June of 86. About two months later I went to the local Autozone in my 320i to get some sandpaper (I was doing some sanding on the Buick). I pulled in a parking spot & as I was getting out of my car, a guy pulls in beside me in a nice 1969 SS 396 Chevelle. I made a comment about his car and he said it was for sale and threw me the keys. He said to take it for a drive. I hopped in it and took off! Garnet red, black bucket seat interior, numbers-matching 396 and a 4 speed! I came back after a short drive and started talking money. I had to sell a motorcycle and two Jeeps but I came up with the money and $4800 later it was mine.
It was nice having the GS & the SS at the same time. People would drool all over the Chevelle and barely give the GS a second look. When I would tell them the Buick would blow the doors off the Chevelle, they would look at me like I had three eyes or something. The GS was completely stock and the SS was modified. It was a 325 horse 396 but it had rectangle port heads (off a 67 427/435 vette), Hedman Husler headers, Edelbrock Tarantula intake, Holley, etc. But in a race, the GS would leave the Chevy in the dust. The SS was fun to drive with the 4 speed.
The Chevelle I kept for 4 years, the Buick for 22 years... And one day I hope to buy the Buick back...

70 buick Electra convertible 1st car and first race car. Moms car, top was gone and exaust bad. at the end it was running 12.21 in the quarter 3900 lbs with 235-75 r15 tires on the front.

66 Buick Special $800 to go faster than the Electra. At the end 10.75 at 122 mph in the 1/4

91 Buick Lesabre $315 still driven today with over 300,000 miles 16.81 in the 1/4 when first bought with the check engine light on.

81 Buick Skyhawk Got it for towing a car. Was going to make it a chassis car and didn't have enough money. Took it to Pull-A-Part with no engine or trans this year got $215 for it.

83 Buick Regal $300 was going to race it but didn't want to spend the money on the four link. sold it for $300.

72 Buick Skylark $1300 for racing and had some good parts with it. It's for sale now for $1500 and someone is suppose to buy it a week from saturday minus engine and trans for $1000 needs rust fixed around rear glass.

72 Buick Skylark $1000 had less rust than the 1st one for racing still working on it. Need more money. So you see the picture here. I want to go fast but not enough money.

The GS in the pic I built and Todd owns it and I race it. Thanks to Todd Bender for letting me race it.:beer
