We got around 10 mm (almost 1/2 inch) of rain here yesterday, which is unusual for Winnipeg. It rains that much during February about once every 20 years.

Of course with the temperature right around the freezing mark, this rain became ice as soon as it hit pavement. When I arrived home at midnight, even using 4 wheel drive would not permit me to climb up my driveway. It was kind of cool to slide sideways back to my street though. The second attempt was successful, and I made it into the garage.

The forecast calls for more snow later today and tomorrow on top of the ice. I feel a case of 24-48 hour Montezuma's Revenge is about to strike me.

Listen you old Geezer, I want a pic of the top down before I believe you. Does the Vette's top go down as well ?

Yes--- but it takes a sawsall to get the top down on a ZO6. A consequence of this type of surgery, however, is it is hard to get the top back up.

Mr. Lore, I have all my spring bulb flowers blooming with the exception of my tulips which just broke ground this week. The buds on my Star Magnolia brush are so swollen that they look like they could start blooming any day now.

I had to run the A/C on Wednesday when it was 76. Last night we left the window cracked open and the fan running.

The whole week has been high 60's or low 70's. But it looks like next week we will be lucky to get out of the 40's weird weather this winter.

You must be so close to the water that your plants bloom ahead of ours even though we are further south.

I saw that. Some kind of coastal storm that may yield snow. That is perhaps the best skeeter killer. But we are generally against snow.

Too cold here today to take the top down, but I might take the boat for a ride down Main Street with the top up just to get into the mood for spring.

My most recent trip took me down through Ashville NC on my way to Conway SC. Some rather chilly winter weather followed me, but it was stopped by the Great Smokies.

There was only one convertible with the top down the entire time I was in the area, some kind of econo box. The temperature got up to about 55 F in Conway this past Tuesday. Unfortunately, my golf clubs were still in my garage. So close to Myrtle Beach, and yet so far.........

Still mosquito bite free this year.
