Please keep it all in Mo. It was not warm enough for me in Fla this weekend. Wind plus cold air is the worst except for ice.
...this from a guy who put a sweater on at the BPG meet last year b/c it was "chilly" Think the coldest I ever drove the convert. with top down was about 20 deg.
It has hit the 60s here today and it will be tomorrow in the 60s tomorrow. We are headed to the Rockingham drag strip in the morning. Hopefully we can put the top down for part of the day.
...supposed to be mid-high 40's here on Sunday. The clouds have parted on the house renovation as well with the first coats of paint going on the wall as we speak. ...BigRed hasn't seen the light of day since before the new year, but, just for you Mr. Lore (ok...and me too) it WILL be out on Sunday WITH THE TOP DOWN !!! Stay tuned for pics
Are you guys making one of those Sunday runs to some place near the Atlantic? What is it called? Alan we are going to see a friend's cousin run his new Camaro (old style body) with an all aluminum mountain motor (800 cid). I think it dynoed around 2400 hp on NO. The same body with an identical motor went over 200 mph in a quarter with the prior owner. He got out of his old 350 cid ride because it only ran in the 8s in a quarter. This is supposed to be a low 7 high 6 second car once dialed in. Get out the double TP and hit the gas.
Geez that's fast. Do you have to have some super-duper- license-where-they-check-your-blood pressure to drive one of those, or can anyone with enough money and b...s go for it?
He was running in the 8s with the 350 cid car without hooking. I think the top end speed has him a little concerned on this new car. This is its maiden voyage. I would hate to say just what the engine cost. It was a ton.
...are you the hired shoe ?? Dunno if everyone will be out for Sunday - but I sure will. This has prolly been the longest I haven't driven BigRed (7 weeks) since the motor went in before the 2005 BPG meet
69f today and 77f tomorrow. Top was down, but Hood was Up. Did half a tune up. Anyone want to help get the plugs out of the right bank on a A/C car ? :af::blast:ray:
It's easy with a flex head ratchet. I can do all 8 plugs in 15 minutes. http://www.v8buick.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=68863&d=1141863259
Heck of a nice day at the drag races at the "Rock" Rockingham, Marston NC. Temps were in the 60s. With the lower crowds you could just about stand on the start line and see the action. A friend's 2400 hp 800 cid Firebird made it s first pass ever and his LS7 powered Camaro made a pass. It has about 1000 hp at the rear wheels on NO. It was plenty quick for a second car at 8.27 seconds. The NO drag bikes were out in force and some rails made some low 7 second passes. The drag bikes appeared to be in the 150 -180 mph range with a lot of side betting going on. So the light were off while they kept their cards close to their vests. They are running here ever Sat now with the first big race later in the month. 70s here next week.
Northeast Dragway in Edenton opens March 1st. We hope to have the Stage1 clone ready to run by the the 1st of April.
Yeah!Well Mr Lore,I'll have you know that i was out today and with the heater going full blast i had my window down ALL THE WAY! Not for long but it was down. Tom
I assume NE is an 1/8 mile track? I think Rockingham and Fayetteville are the only 1/4 mile tracks left in NC until Bruton Smith of NASCAR fame open up the world class 1/4 mile track at Concord, NC.
