The virus threads have over 40,000 views so maybe they have a place here, since this is where so many of us spend so much time.

I voted to remove. Politics and policy aside, it is easy to fall into the trap (not intentionally mind you) of passing on misinformation, mere speculation about future events or even worse medical realted advice, that unless you are a Dr. could lead folks astray. Now, if the virus thread was focused on efforts examples and or suggestions to help those who are struggling. I'm all for that. There are multitudes of folks who are totally lost right now. Like the other thread says, "Help from above" That's the answer in more ways than one IMO.
When this is all done and the votes are counted..........i wanna know how many that voted have only been registered for a month or less.......just say'in....... Peace WildBill
I don't really care either way. All the virus talk and threads about the virus is only because it's what's happening now. In due time this too will pass and on to the next. But whatever happens please Jim keep the virus meme thread, it made me die laughing last night, which we all know laughter is the key to happiness
The only thing that I worry about is that this thing gets so heated up because of the Stupid D and R in our voting rights that the People here get to hate each other because of those 2 letters in the alphabet I still vote for the best person that can do the job regardless of the party. If everyone would just take the D and R out of the equation and just give your honest opinion of the subject at hand all of us and the USA will be in a better place. They already do this in Washington every time Any president speaks all you have to do is see who stands up and claps during the State of the Union Addresses. That right there shows the separation of the 2 parties and you can't tell me people are this separated in their true thoughts. It has become a complete joke and I think it sucks. So take the D and R off your name and quit arguing about whose party could have gotten this right with this virus because believe me, Both Parties would have F'd this whole thing up and don't think any different.
Oh Since I am a Printing Pressman I can tell you that Yellow is in everything we see so you all will just have to live with the yellow cars so There Oh and keep the forum for now and when it is over just lock all of it then we can go back and see just how stupid we really are.
So @Jim Weise I look at it a little different. What I see is that the other traffic on the board is impacted by this chatter. People are now coming here to squabble instead of talk about Buicks. I have to wade through all these virus posts when I go to the new posts (because as others have said, I choose not to read them). I wonder if I'm not alone? The Boatload of Fun section has not seen a post since the 13th? Readers have lots of choices, including other communities. I think this new discourse (which often becomes heated and personal) is not in your best interest. There are plenty of other places on the WWW to get your panties in a bunch and shout at your neighbors, I think these conversations change the overall tone of the New Posts section and the board in general. Your original rule was probably the wisest choice, IMHO, and that's backed by the board's growth. Personally, I have been using Wildcat Facebook group more as folks are there talking about what I came to the site to enjoy. I think others may do the same if the % of posts on politics continue to grow. Thanks for asking & listening
Too me it’s a massive subject that is taking over our lives. You have to talk about it in your own way. I like posting memes that get people to laugh for a few minutes. Gets your mind off the terrible crap that’s going on. How much Buick talk can you have if you can’t even drive your car? 10 threads on how much dust is on it? I don’t think it’s that hard to not click on a thread that you don’t want to see. Or maybe it is.
As an Aussie, I'm gonna abstain from voting, I have zero interest in American politics, or politics here at home either. I don't watch television, (haven't since 1982), definitely don't watch the news in any form or read newspapers, though morbid curiosity sometimes gets to me when I turn my computer on and stuff pops up on the browser. The other forum I'm a member on concerning Victory motorcycles (I own/ride two) has a politics and religion thread, on which some members extend large amounts of vitriol and abuse at each other to a sickening and to me laughable degree...I try to stay right out of any discussion in that area. I usually delete Politics/Religion thread posts without even opening them, unless I really want a laugh. So I can understand the reasoning behind keeping the forum free of a virus thread , to keep the hatred to a minimum. Its sad to see people united as either motorcyclists or car enthusiasts at each others throats from the safety of a keyboard. On another note I know is close to all your hearts on both forums, Id feel a lot better going into the future if I had a pump action under the desk.
Just wait till THIS dust settles and the 1.69 gas skyrockets up to 7.00 a gallon since the "poor" oil companies have been so hurt by a lousy flu bug. Poor, poor, Achmed. When it drops another 50 cents, Im hauling 5 gallon cans down to my boat. Right now it needs about 160 gallons @3/4 mpg. What about the sex offenders they are letting out of prison because its unhealthy. Chinaman products will triple with 3 times the plastic of lesser quality. Life is gonna suck a lot more before it gets ANY better. This is the 90's guys so man up. ws
Quick thought! keep it ! Everyone should know by the time they can vote, that politicians will go with the flow! And eventually our car hobby will go by the wayside! Yes it will! If we let these lying leftists continue to deceive, we will be in a situation like Cuba, they have old classic cars too! Drawn by a donkey! Because they haven't money for a new motor or gasoline Remember politics are a part of life whether you like it or not ! And to ignore for whatever reason is a fault we should remedy! We can't ignore what is taking place with the politics that flow through this pandemic? A lie is a lie and and can change in the blink of an eye! but the truth is ALWAYS the truth!
