I respect alot of you so that's why I don't open up my faucet and let it pour on some topics or some people to hard. I know my words hurt, I hurt people here sometimes and I run fast to apologize. Some people here don't respect people enough to hold back, and that's f up. I will open up my faucet some and see how it feels, nah I had to erase it...............
Canada is directly effected by the US economy and politics. As a matter of fact the whole world is directly effected. Once Trump succeeds in draining the swamp we will all be better off, the whole world.
I forgot to mention that your(JW) business could be negatively affected if one of those "kind" of bills were to be passed that could possibly take away your livelihood?
I for one like this sections, it brung some as'holes to light. Opinions are like assholles too, you guys could wash them as best as you can but when you talk politics especially like you understand your talking with your ashole first. And for the record I like trump but I wont kiss his ass. I wont praise a man just for doing a job he signed up for. I wont expect a man to take care of my family but me.
Off and on since long before this thread was created, someone would say "if you don't like something don't look at it" personally I think that is good advice. As far as this thread, a lot of us enjoy the debate, but it certainly isn't for people with thin skin, I will never harbor hard feelings for anyone over a disagreement. When it gets to the point where someone says or insinuates, we would be better off if the Pres. were dead, then all bets are off! Bob
I'll throw my 2 cents in. It's your board and you (and your mods) have to deal with it, so I won't be voting one way or the other. That said, I Admin a board about this size and traffic flow. We have a Latest News forum and a Politics forum. The vast majority of my time (and my Mods time) are spent maintaining those 2 forums so they don't get out of hand. It's my opinion that your resources (your time and Mods time) would be better spent on the founding principals of this forum, Buick's. You are not generating any ad revenue from increased traffic to that forum. Its a PITA to have to look at every post to see if someone went off their political rocker. It's can be divisive to the community when a majority opinion stomps on the minority opinion, and to be honest neither side is likely to change their point of view. I love coming here, away from my political and news monitoring duties, and I will continue to do so. When I first signed up here I was amazed to see the unity and civility of the Buick community. A stark difference from the forum I Admin. Like I said, I won't vote to keep it or dump it. After going in there one time, I've made the choice not to go back. It's your decision. Listen to your members, listen to your Mods. You'll know when it reaches a breaking point, and it will. I guarantee it. I hope everyone can get back together at that point an continue to help each other out.
I'm not sure why people are so bothered by something they have to seek. There are many things on the forums I frequent that I don't like. I simply choose to not visit those particular forums/threads. But for a bit of levity, the new 2020 quarter has an image of a bat
I frequent a motorcycle forum (used to) even more than here but had to sign off indefinantly because i could not stay out of the Corona threads. People in there (some of who I actually know) are simply not themselves. Stress can cause you to make some bad decisions. I agree the only way to avoid the crazy online news and debate is you have to CHOSE to not participate, that's not easy at times. Ironic that a couple of Corona threads were started by people wanting or considering banning Corona threads.
Its great that you can avoid the Virus forum . Perhaps after you log in you go to every forum you like such as " The Bench or Parts for sale or Cars for sale etc...... When I log on I key on New Posts and then Recent posts . Its a quicker way to look at ALL the forums then going to each forum individually . So when you go on that way all the crap about the virus forum comes up .
That aint the way to phrase things nowadays.... Like the friend of my wife I was looking to hire who had just gotten out of the Marines. I knew what he meant -- moving from Military to civilian life -- but it was still funny when he said he was "transitioning".
This place used to be an escape from politics and now it’s not. It was nice heading to a place that was mostly about cars and not politics. Sure I don’t have to click on the section but new posts is riddled with threads about it. I guess I’ll just take a break from here and maybe an email can be sent out once it’s over?
You are honestly wasting bandwidth complaining about the phrases “. I could go either way” and “transitioning”? That type of snowflake mentality is one of the root problems with this world today. I’m offended lol, ok next.
JW starting now can you remove the new content feature on the Virus section, while we figure this out, or permanently? That seems to be a common concern/issue for those that just pop in to view the new posts.
Keep it. Real world knowledge is the most important thing. I don’t believe 90 percent of the media. If peoples feeling are hurt tough turkey. How will feelings be when we started dying?
I come here many times a day just to get the latest info on Buick related stuff. People who need parts I may have, part I may need, who's car made progress, a car somebody picked up, a auction lead, barn finds, NOT what's happening in Italy and how many people are going to die, figures and graphs by state (which half is fictional, not real). I get enough of Virus info on my Phone, E-Mails, Mail, News, Etc. I just picked up the latest copy of Muscle Machines and imagine no sections on Virus info just car related stuff. I agree with the "Just don't look" but I as many use the "Latest Posts" and I hate to scroll thru all the Virus posts, agreed I'm not clicking on them but half of the board is Virus related. It would not be that bad but the "fear monger left" and the "it's not that bad right" just can't seem to play together so I voted to get rid of it. At a minimum I agree with the remove it from the Latest News, if you have the need to go there then let members go there I don't wan't to see it, it's too much. If it stays and at a minimum the Latest News is not changed I would ask for my account to be suspended for a couple months just so I can't log-in and see it. I will as come back when it's a car forum again. Just my .02 Cents
Here's how I do it(my .02c); I hit the new post button and scroll all the way down and if there is another page I hit the #2 button and scroll all the way down where I start looking. Then I will scroll up just looking at the sections I'm interested in WITHOUT even looking at the titles of the threads in the sections I'm not interested in. When I see one of the sections I like to read and maybe reply I will read the title as I'm clicking on it. When I'm done in that thread I click the back arrow and start back up where I ended by scrolling up just reading the title of the sections until I see one of the ones I want to open and so on and so on. I can't see what the big deal is unless all the nay sayers just can't help themselves but to open those threads so they have the need to whine about it because people shouldn't like the stuff they don't like?!!
I believe this could be a win / win for everybody. The ones who like the virus stuff know where to find it and can still click the "watch-button" so they do not loose sight of their favorite topics. The others are not bothered by the many new virus posts in the new post section.
So on my third and probably last visit since I am politically and virussly challenged and personally dont give a crap either way "Let GOD sort 'em out", the ones that rag about the virus forum the most are the most frequent contributors. A bunch of hypocrites. Its the Novus Ordo Seclorum. ws
I see your point, but why should I have to click and scroll 10 different sections just to see what it is new. That's what the latest news if for. I just want to see NEW content that I have not seen. Why should I have to change the way I view the boards just because of one new section that's flooded with non-factual claims and doom that I choose not to view. It's just my opinion nut hey i am only one person. Let the majority rule and I will change accordingly.
