I like to hear a loud muffler.

I used to like my own car to be loud, but now prefer quiet and unassuming - to fool people.

Well as soon as I get my car back from getting the transmission rebuilt, and hopefully will have a 350 buick(or possibly a 350 olds if worst comes to worst!) motor to swap in, then I have two cherry bomb mufflers(Glasspacks) that im going to have put on, i've heard glasspacks on a stock '70 350 oldsmobile motor out of a cutlass and into a 1976 olds delta, and I have to say im quite pleased w/ the sound of a small block expressing sound through glasspacks. :3gears:

My vote: deep and low...Screams when you romp it..
Few cars that sounded great... Buick crowd- Paintworks GS stage 1.

Best car I have heard YET: 1968 Dodge Charger w/ a 63 or 64 426 Max Wedge w/ 13:1 compression (sorry :Dou: ) STREET DRIVEN. Headers, 3" welded flowmasters placed on in the late 80's.... I could hear the car from over 1 mile away turning up and down side streets and finally pulling out onto 126 in Bellingham...not loud, just low, very deep, very BUILT sound...SCREAMED when he got on it.. The one Mopar I would buy for ANY price... :3gears:

I gotta say, the Chryslers/MOPARs are the best-sounding cars out there (at WOT). I don't know why, but Chryslers just have a fantastic sound (even the small blocks).

Even the newer chrysler/mopar products sound great. Quite a few rumble-bee trucks(Dodge) that have duals and I gotta say, even not at WOT they sound awesome. Yeah it's a truck, I know, but it still sounds good w/ duals. Also a viper running around that sounds good, but what viper doesn't? So I have to agree w/ the above statement, love the old sounding chryslers/mopars too! :3gears:

Some dumb mutha put cherry bombs on my GS and a small pipe exiting just in front of the rear wheels :Dou:

Its loud as hell, If I had the money to put a good exhaust maybe with some Turbo mufflers that would be great!

Sorry for the rant, I'm currently buzzin right now :bglasses:

Update: Got the GS, I love the way it sounds (dual 3" with Flowmaster 30's) but its got a header leak and I DONT like the sound of that. The only reason its overly loud is because of the leak... thats definitely not a good loud.

rattles the windows in the house when I fire it up, sounds sweeeeeeeeet at idle, and even better when I romp on it (course, I never do that:3gears: :Brow: )

I loved my blown mufflers, put together with wire and some spare sheet metal, they were nice and loud... Some day I'll spend the dough on a 2.5 dual set with the glass packs I think. Shorty headers would be nice, but are too pricey as it is. I'm thinking about having them end right before the rear axle.

I have to agree with this. If I had a GS I would probably like it loud but I would hate my 64 Electra being loud.

on my 72 gs (350), i have 2 1/4" pipes + walker dynomax (short) . great sound at idle & wot. however, between, 58 & 65 mph, these mufflers are very loud & with quite a resonance. i suspect a crossover/h-pipe would resolve that. they seem to get louder with each passing year.

My Regal has 2 1/2 duals coming off the manifolds then go into glass packs. I like the idle and cruising rumble but I don't really like the "blat" sound when I step on it.

Its been said "Loud Pipes Save Lives."

You gotta hear a 308S cam through 3 inch Flowmaster 40's to the rear bumper.
