I am amazed that people still think Zim initiated the attack. Its a fact that Zim lost track of TM and went back to his truck. TM jumped out of the bushes and asked "whats your f-ing problem homie?" and starting beating the crap out of him. Zim was getting his head beat against the concrete. I can not believe some of the posts I am reading on this thread. I'm not going to call people out on their beliefs, nor am I going to get nasty or confrontational. Not my style. The job of a jury is to weigh FACTS as they are presented by the prosecution and rebutted by the defense. If those FACTS do not substantiate the crime beyond a reasonable doubt, then the job of each person on the jury is to find that person innocent of the crime(s) they are being accused of. Their job is not to think about what TM's parents might have felt when they heard their son has been shot dead. That has nothing to do with the case or the incident what -so-ever. This entire "distraction" was a gross perversion of the over reaching powers of our totally out of control government. It took 40+ days for a "special prosecutor" to bring charges against GZ. The local prosecutors and the police who investigated the incident both stated this incident fell well within the perimeters of Floridas state law for "stand your ground" and or a self defence scenario. Both were in agreement that this incident would not have to be brought before a grand jury. Then race baiting pimps, the MSM, and even the President weighed in with their opinions, edited tapes of actual 9-1-1 calls and even went so far as saying if he had a son he'd look like Trayvon - and in doing so injected emotional responses which were irresponsible at every level due to the fact none of them had not been reviewing the actual FACTS. You must understand that all of the above I mentioned were not privy to the case file, did not read it, and only reported/opined on what they were being told by unreliable sources. They all are guilty of a malpheasance of duty to their own profession(if race baiting pimp is a profession). Journalist are to report facts- MSNBC altered the 9-1-1 tapes and reported those ALTERED tapes as factual accounts as what happened. The President spouting off that a more thorough investigation needs to be done, and getting Holder involved makes him just as accountable due to the fact the only thing he knew about the case was TM was a young black man. I hope that Zim does not stop here and brings the US gov't, MSNBC, and The state of Fl (special prosecutor) to court and sues them for damages (Billions should be sought). He now has a target on his back and the only reason for that is because of the fabricated reports which are proven to NOT BE FACTUAL and due to irresponsible rhetoric from public officials, unethical reporting from media outlets, as well as malicious prosecution. Lastly, The reason Lady Justice is blind folded is symbolic of justice being blind to all circumstantial parts of a case (such as but not limited to - race, religion, age, sex, or emotional rhetoric) She is there to ONLY hear the Facts!
I hope if you think someone is following you think befroe acting as you don't know if they are armed, and because being followed and asked what your up to is not a defense for assault and battery. It was a horrible to loose a child and I really do feel for the family. That said I do not know exactly what happened. From some of the media I was led to believe Mr Zimmerman just decided to kill a young black teenager because he was this crazy racist. I expect that the trial decision was the right one. Google "the knock out game" and see whats going on here in St Louis. The game already took the life of and older man last year. What will happen when this game gets someone shot?

Not for anything but its amazing how race was brought up right away when they found out he was half white. Then when he said he was hispanic it kinda quieted down a lil bit but race still big issue. The whole thing really highlighted the failing of parenting and the promoting of an education to actually be successful. Instead the media and groups want to insist it's a setup government and education systems with the sole intent to be bias. It took the wind out of their sails temporarily when it came to light GZ identified with hispanic and wasn't caucasian/white. I want to know why there isn't an active police investigation or arrests being made by the black panther group publicly putting bounties on an innocent man. Any other race based group would be getting brimstone and fire rained down upon them for making such suggestions.

Nope, not going to bite. The first two words of that article say it all: "Media Speculation". My first comment in this thread was to point out the stupid myth about martial artists. I've been studying Japanese MA since 1979, teaching since '84, and with the same instructor from the beginning...who happens to be a retired Prosecuting Attorney for the Criminal Trial Division (Murder, Rape, i.e. other heavy stuff) in my state, who now is a freelance Defender for the cases he decides to accept. I learned a lot from him about the criminal trial process over the years. The trial in question was fubar from the beginning. I won't take sides, nor am I interested in "media speculation". I can see fault on each side depending on whose story one WANTS to believe. Thanks to our judicial system, with all its faults, what one WANTS to believe is MOOT (some will need to look up the word, it's not the same as "mute"). So how can I, a citizen who already knows the faults of most media, a person who was not a witness, form an opinion that I'd be willing to stand firm upon? It's ludicrous; a fantasy or a delusion of grandeur to be able to hold such a firm position with so few FACTS. My late mother graduated from Penn State University in '63 with a major in Journalism, minor in English. Thanks to Dad's job as an engineer at Buick, she didn't have to work until after he died in '88. She took a fresh, hard look at journalism and couldn't believe how polluted it had become even back then, so far from the concept of impartiality and fact finding/verification that she was taught. She pursued a new degree in Education and became an English teacher instead. People now are stuck reading what they WANT to believe, now more than ever they subscribe to newspapers that fit their "view", watch the TV channels and read the magazines that fit their view the same way. Nobody seems to spend any time reading about what they might NOT want to believe. Hell, if you want some really good reading, dig in to read what our enemies are writing! Our Military calls this "gathering intelligence". But, everyone loves their comfort zone, it's human nature. Looking outside of it is mostly confusing, but still informative. Everyone should give it a shot. I started looking deep in the Fall of 2001. TRUTH is somewhere in the middle of it, if it's to be found at all...and in this particular case the truth could never really be discovered or reinforced even in court. The Jury would seem to (and note that I did not say "did") understand this. Regardless of the TRUTH which nobody could know except for those involved, the jury did what was required of it. Devon
