It was a travesty to even try the man ! I watched this trial, and the defense laid it all out for ALL to see!
And if people don't like the verdict ? to bad ! the kid forfeited his life playing the fool of "gangsta" I feel for the parents, but a verdict of guilty was not in order ! IMO

Does anyone think this would have received even 1/2 the media attention if the shooter was black and the kid was white? I highly doubt it. The media always pumps this stuff way out of proportion. Georgie Z was,is, innocent right from the start. Next will be the civil suit where some greedy lawyer will attempt to put him in the poor house.

I agree he shouldn't even been on trial. The sad part is there are those who won't accept the verdict, he is a marked man.

If Zimmerman had been a real law enforcement officer, there would have been no trial at all, would have automatically been found "justified", and the family would have had their million dollars by now.

What I don't understand is this- most of the media is saying that he wasn't found "innocent", just found not guilty. What? I learned in grade school that your innocent until proven guilty.

Exactly. The media causes most if our problems

And the state attorney that bypassed the grand jury in the beginning?... should be fired

O'Mara summed it up last night (took this video of my TV)

that's what I was thinking. the main media stinks in this day and age...I watch less and less of it now.
remember the days when they weren't suppose to give an opinion?

The prosecution failed to make their case..That is all we have to know,or the jury would have voted the opposite..

My Wife is really upset over the verdict. Oy. :Dou:

The way I see it is, the jury knows more hard facts than all the rest of us that only know what the media reported, which I always view as suspect.
Just because the jury came back with a verdict you don't agree with or wanted, doesn't make it the wrong verdict.
Too many in our society live their lives and make their judgements and decisions based on feelings and emotions, rather than critical thinking, logic, and facts.

At least so far protesters aren't burning down their own neighborhoods. Which is always helpful.

Sorry, I'll be the bad guy on this one. The bottom line is this: You have an unarmed 16 year-old kid walking on the sidewalk. He has a confrontation not of his own making with an armed man. He ends up dead. How is the armed man not guilty of something? He (Zimmerman) was told by the police to back off. He didn't. This is a travesty of justice, and anyone here who had exactly the same thing happen to their 16 year-old son would be outraged by this outcome.

  16. John, were you aware this was discovered on his phone by the prosecutions It guy and held back from the defense team? hardly an innocent young boy.

I agree completely. The one main thing that made him guilty in my eyes is the fact that he was clearly told to not follow and continued after him on his own and engaged his so called "beating" that caused him to stand his ground. What a load of B.S

If the races of the guys arrested and the guy that got beat to death were switched this would be front page news. Are white people rioting in the streets over it?

Wonder how long before this thread gets locked?

Also the Headline would have READ

That is a matter for the courts. He was doing nothing more then walking down the sidewalk. He could have been plotting the assassination of the President, it still would have been irrelevant.
