Sean, you asked for some updates on the sandrail. Yesterday I finished taking it apart. Then I sanded and wire brushed for hours, and hours. My arms are rubber! Then I gave it a soapy wet sanding, rinse, and dried it. Then I drank beer!!!
One of my techs and I took the ladies out for some easy riding yesterday. We cut down a tree (ok, cut about 1/2 through then I yanked and snapped it in half with my sled), had a nice campfire, cooked some chili, little smokies, and drank a LOT of beer. Another great day in the woods!.....came home and napped, then took out the Caddy for a cruise.
Lots of maintenance items around the house, yardwork and today changing oil in two of the vehicles, painted the rims on my moto van this week as well. My biggest fear is running out of things to do that I actually enjoy. Hahaaaaaaa.
Today's project: replacing the original dash in the Mach 1 (it had a cap that looked alright but had a gap at front and eventually cracked) with the brand new, original Ford tooling dash my mom and girlfriend got me for Christmas A friend stopped over and we're taking the Cad out to run a few errands. I'll come back, have a few beers, and finish the dash this afternoon.
Terrible video but I’m trying to play with RC cars, doing an engine swap in my 2004 Buick Rainier (LS out and Buick 350 in) and various other projects.
After a few days of planning, I have organized 20 cars to do a mobile car show that will drive thru a number of Minneapolis neighborhoods friday afternoon. Using social media, we got 57 requests(a lot more than that, but we had to close the list since it was getting too big) to drive by peoples homes so they can enjoy vehicles of yesteryear. Based on the requests i got for drive-by's, its apparent that some are taking this quarantine harder than others. It's our pleasure to bring some joy to people. Right now this is looking to be the first of a few "mobile car shows" we do.
And done....about as close to N.O.S. as you can get. Fixed a few "since you're in theres"....apparently 15 year old Lucas didn't give a rip how long his big, fat, custom stereo's wires were or what screws went where....all better now. Amazing how well "original" stuff looks and fits....
My yard hasn’t been this complete in a long time. And working on a bow tie Almost done Probably 1 1/2 years ago bought a factory console and found some correct bucket seats to replace column shift and bench seat Reupholstered them and then it sat Now finally iddit tilt column, console in ,carpet in Dry fitted seats so all that’s is final bolt in.
Dang, there sure are a lot of people getting out and working on some cool projects! Lucas... The pictures up on the mountain are flat out beautiful, and I know from my own experience pictures don't show height or depth very well, but the pictures of those inclines look steep! What is the place you're snowmobiling at used for in the summer? Sean... Cool stunts with the RC truck! I would have never thought that they could jump off a car and keep going! Lucas and Sean... Kinda funny seeing you 2 playing with snow all around while I was sweating my butt off yesterday. We hit 93 yesterday and humid. Yuck! Electra fied... What a cool idea having a "mobile car show!!!" I'll bet a lot of people enjoyed it! Any pics? Roy... Your car is coming together nicely. It sucks being off of work, but at least you are using your time wisely!
Wearing out my smoker.....brisket, pork butts, chicken, steaks , you name it. Hot rod is gonna slow down a couple tenths because I'm gonna weigh 400 lbs.
