Fun? These days one tends to want to ask, "What's that?" We had golf ball size hail this week so I spent the first part of the day cleaning the raking the yard. Sticks everywhere from the trees, then I mowed the lawn. More fun. But then I got to drive my Buick a little, mainly trying to dial in the vacuum lock-up switch on the 200-4R. I didn't have a lot of time because rain was on it's way and getting closer and I really didn't feel like cleaning the car up again. I got it as close as it needs to be but in the end I decided I really didn't like it locking up in 3rd gear. Fortunately I also ran it through a toggle switch so I can shut off the lockup altogether anytime I want. My main concern was heat in the trans in town with my newly re-stalled 3,600 converter but it didn't run any hotter than it ever did before without the lockup in 3rd. Oh well.
In spite of my steadfast "no more parts cars" rule I spent a great day outside tearing apart what's left of a 69 GS400. Beer was involved, shhhhh. Supposed to snow here tomorrow. Typical.
This was my mom's first car. She bought it in 1964. 215 V8, 4bbl, 4 spd, bucket seats, PS. When I was a kid, this is what we'd take to the lake to swim. Three kids, holding inner tubes for the 10 mile drive down side streets to get there. It's the car I learned to drive a stick in.

Glad I got my projects done this week. Woke up to a mini blizzard and 17 degree temps. Also experienced my first thunder and snow storm. (Yeah, I still got my Christmas lights up. Don't judge me.)

Yep, Springtime in Montana . Back to perfectly sunny and gorgeous this morning, but only 19 degrees with a high of 39. Only a little snow left straggling on the bushes in my yard. Might get out for a drive or go plinking in the woods with .22s and .17s.....HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY!!!!!
Fun! I have acreage and horses. There is always something that needs tending. But the horses are very affectionate and very curious/nosey (always wanting to know what you're doing) so they will follow you like a big dog. I just like sitting on the back porch and watch them cut the grass while drinking a beer. One night went out to feed without turning on the lights so it was very dark when I got away from the house out to the stable. Never heard Goosie (our Red Rhone) walk up right behind me in the grass. Then you get that feeling something is there with you! I turn around to get a big ole sloppy Goose kiss right on the mouth. Scared the crap out of me! Abigail is white as snow so she looks like a ghost. They also like the sound of their hooves on cement so I can't leave the carport or garage open or they get to dancing. Working under a car without closing off the carport will get you a horses head trying to see what you are doing under there. Mikey
Mikey, (Faster), I love the horse stories!!! My brother had 2 horses. They were the biggest, funnest, (not a word), dogs I ever met!!! They did everything, and more that you said. One day my brother was putting a tune up on his truck. Their noses were in the way! Then one of the horses grabbed my freshly opened beer and ran away with it. Cracked me up!!! Enjoy...
Good morning all! Yesterday was a blast!!! My son and I took the topless car for an Easter cruise with about 25 to 30 really awesome cars. It was a Facebook orchestrated cruise. I think it's called "South Florida Cruising" or something like that. We all met in the back parking lot of a local grocery store. There were Maserati's, McLaren's, Porsche's, a T-bucket, a few Harley's, and then regular muscle cars like mine. We headed up U.S.1 for about 10 miles to downtown West Palm Beach. Then we headed east to the town of Palm Beach, then south along the ocean, and then west back to our starting point. There were people taking walks and riding bicycles along the way. All of them stopped what they were doing, whipped out their phones, and were taking pictures of us going by. They even did a drive by through a residential neighborhood to go past a house with a "special needs" child standing out front waving. It was very cool! Afterwards we all met back at the same parking lot. We didn't stay long because I had to pee soooooo bad!!! Couldn't wait to get home!!! I'll attach some pics from my phone.
