So, today’s fun thing to do was go through the closets and get rid of the old clothes! There is no way I’ll ever get rid of these though!
Do you still squeeze in to those? I'd need to wear suspenders and a belt if I tried to wear 36 inch waist. I just saw my old Levi's 29×32 I plumped up over the years to a 30×32
Steve, The sandrail is always just parked in the backyard. In the "old days" when kids had school, I'd ride the grand kids up and down the canal and around the neighborhood in the afternoons. They call it the zoom zoom.
Finally getting around to installing the new window guides and weatherstrip on the pile after 2 years of parts just hanging out. Might as well completely disassemble both doors, clean, and lube everything....since I'm in there......
Job done, if I did it again it'd take about a tall boy a side. Going to be nice not having snow inside the truck in the winter. Test drive done, tight as a drum. I was telling Joe and my brother I'm going to look into 1 piece glass for it. Looked so clean with the vent windows gone.
Dang John, you are soooo correct! I just got home and hit the refresh button. That was scary!!! Guy talking about "hearing" those tight jeans sliding on to Mike's big thighs. Oh sh t!!!! Disgusting! I really don't care what you all write about. Just warn me. Crime tape, or something around the thread! LMAO! I don't know where to start, but I will. Boring stuff... It rained today!!! For all you people still having crappy weather from time to time, let me tell you... I don't think we've had a rainy day since before Christmas. Oops, I lie. The day before my son's wedding and a little the day of the wedding. I think they're going to call it an official drought, but they don't want to combat with the pandemic news wise? We broke more rules yesterday? I forgot to tell you all about the 3 day, 2 night canoe/camping trip we went on last weekend. It was great for the guys! Woman folk wanted to divorce us!!! Yesterday... My crazy son plans this canoe trip with his cousin. The parks are all closed so we're putting in at a "rich" friends house who lives on the river. We're having a drought, remember? The friend says he has nothing but mud behind his house. Bummer! Plan B. (For you South Florida people we're canoeing in the Loxahatchee River by Indiantown Rd. in Jupiter.) So we get up to nephew Tommy's house and he's telling us about plan B. We're going to drive east on Indiantown Rd. As soon as we pass the bridge that goes over the river we're going to pull off the road, back up to the broken fence that keeps you from using this as a portage, unload everything, and park the truck down the street at the gas station. Awesome!!! It worked great! (And we didn't get caught by the police.) We had 2 trucks, 5 people, 2 kayaks, 1 regular canoe, and a flat back canoe with a little 4 hp. kicker on it. Gotta get back upstream! We had a blast!!! I have lived here my whole life, but I have never canoed this part of the river. It was beautiful, and scary, all at the same time! A couple of years ago a boys club was canoeing it. A kid got eaten by an alligator and was never found. Scary!!! This river has 2 "steps." Florida is pretty flat and the steps, called weirs, help retain the water during droughts. The first weir was only about a 1 1/2 foot drop. On the other side a gauge said we were 7.5 feet above sea level. Now the river started moving. We come cruising around this bend and there's a BIG Cypress tree that had fallen across the river. Oh boy! My son and his wife were on the kayaks. No problem. They just ducked and went under. Tommy and I were in the canoe. We forgot about the nice upright chairs with cushions he had just installed that morning for our ride. We duck to go under the tree, but we forgot about the seats sticking upright. Swoosh!!! We flipped over!!! Funny as can be. Luckily the water was only a couple of feet deep right there. We emptied the canoe and continued on. We get to the second weir. There are people there??? We thought we were the only ones that broke the law? There's a car path for the US hydrological service to maintain their gauge. These people apparently put their bikes over the fence and road them to the river. One guy says to us, "Where did you all put in at?" I told him a helicopter dropped us in the water. They thought we were crazy! We drank beer, ate lunch, and swam for awhile. What a GREAT day!!! I'll stop now so I can download some pictures from my phone.
Keep the vents Hillbilly air conditioning Plus I like the look Chevys delete the vents Ford keep them
It was a VERY cool trip!!! I will be back! What's next??? Dam, there are some really cool posts on this thread. I have to answer some questions, and of course make people say, "WTF!" Sean, you're first. > So you moved, and got a new BIG garage and more? This has to be a "guy" show because I noticed you didn't show any pictures of your new house, just the manly side of it. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Next, I think my son and I were in the basement of your old house??? Ah ha, WTF! A couple of years ago we were chatting back and forth on someone's thread. You showed the inside of your basement. (I sure hope this was you???" Correct me if I'm wrong!) I remember you had 2 new drag tires, and your son's, (Now you have 2, more congratulations!) hot wheels track, or whatever they call them now. I could have sworn the track came down the basement steps, over a tire, and onto the basement floor. It looked cool as can be!!! I hope it was your basement, cause I have compliments... My son and I said, "That guy is a cool Dad!" You asked about the engine I have in the sandrail. It's just a boring '73 Super Beetle 1600 duel port engine. Nothing crazy like some people have. It runs great and has been very reliable. I gave up on dirt bikes. I'm getting kinda old and I'm not that tall. Got tired of tipping toeing and being on the ground. 4 tires are VERY good! My favorite place to drive it is at our summer home in western Virginia. Tons of forest roads where you only see a few cars all day long. I will keep posts coming! As Wildbill would say, "Peace"
DasRottweiler, (Jim?) Tell me about your Formula 400!!! Very cool car!!! My buddy has a 70 TA he is restoring. Problem is he's doing it for his brother. My buddy has a "flip phone", and his brother keeps ordering the wrong parts. Hilarious watching 2 old men fight about everything and neither one of them know anything! My buddy tells me about parts he can't get. I look them up on my phone and they're right down the street, in stock, at the local parts place. Dumb old farts! Keep going Jim. Looking good!!!
