Thanks! I have been curious what my 2019 Impala would run in the 1/4 mile with the 300 horse v6 . It seems fun on the street and highway compared to my 69 GS 400. I was guessing 14s or high 13s

Yeah my 2014 has the 304 hp V6 and I installed the throttle enhancer programmer it plugs into the gas Pedal. it doesn’t make anymore power just uses the power that has better and man did it ever wake that car up on acceleration

In my opinion, allowing Buick’s that have an ls wouldn’t be a problem so long as they have their own class. Keep all the other race classes such as the super 16, gsr and so on, Buick body and power. It will only help. If I’m not mistaken this is probably the only Buick only race event there is. All the other ones I’m familiar with have other groups racing at the track. Most chapters or events couldn’t afford to host a Buick only event as the track fees are too much and the car count too low. I’d love to see the GS nationals continue strong the way it’s been, but as time goes on that may become harder. So adding additional cars could only help. Also I don’t think there would be a major increase in ls swapped Buick’s out there if they were allowed to run at the nationals.
I’m a true Buick fan, love seeing guys make them fast. I enjoy seeing the hard work and ingenuity that many have done to go faster and faster. But I can also appreciate the work that went in to Justin Cox’s beautiful GS race car with an LS. I would have no problem seeing that car and some others like it attend and run at the Gs nationals in a class of their own and maybe even some grudge racing against some tomahawk powered cars.

I would rather see Oldsmobiles & Pontiacs (with Olds & Pontiac motors) invited to attend. I love 442's and GTO's! And SS Chevelles, too, but inviting them might be a bit too much. A B-O-P event with the emphasis on Buicks might not be too bad.
And I don't hate LS motors. I had a 2004 GTO with the LS1 and loved it. Thought it was a great, under-rated car that would have been a big winner for Pontiac if it had been properly promoted.

Yeah, when I looked at a new GTO in 2004, they wanted $3,000 over LIST and didn't want to find me a red one with manual trans. The black auto on the lot was it.

I'm all for asking Olds and Pontiac owners to join. They've been orphaned by GM.
