Man, I really feel bad for you guys. I hope everthing is found soon. I've lived in Cecil County, MD most of my life. Stuff like this makes you feel ashamed of where you live. I will be looking everywhere I go. Sadly, there's a lot of places to hide things around here.

    Remember when?

I think it was the GS Nats in 1996, that Theresa and Kelvin's '70 GS was stolen out of the Fairfield Inn parking lot, it was on his trailer, sitting on jack stands as he went to have new slicks mounted and they went to dinner. Little did we know, as we had alot of new Michigan members there that year that didn't know each other, so no one spoke up when the jerk took the car and trailer. He got caught using Kelvin's car with other wheels on it breaking and entering a residence. and left the car, in a ditch somewhere near Elizabethtown, KY, he's still in jail we think. Kelvin got the car back, and had bodywork done, and he still has it, but hasn't done anything with it. But that was a blow to all of us. I've never had a car stolen, but I have been vandalized and it's a major blow to you, and how you feel about your "stuff", there's no description, of how it feels when you are basically violated of your personal stuff! But like someone already said, stuff can be replaced, but I'd still hope that the scumbags, get their time with Doug, and the police for sure! :af:

so true. there are some very determined thieves out there nowdays, one cant be too careful it seems. these guys come prepared to steal your car. they will stalk your car for days until that one moment when you let your guard down, then they seize their chance. the courts simply dont car that much about auto theft. :af:

Carl, sorry to hear about your trailer, that is just the pits.

i posted this on ebay motors bb, not one reply though at this time.

Larry, thanks for posting that. I'm not a BPG member on that board yet so I couldn't view the pics there. Now I know what too look out for.

:af: :af: :af:  :af: This is terrible. I hope someone finds the car and it will be Okay. I'll keep an eye out for it, for sure.

The idea of having the cars be watched 24/7(or almost) is a GREAT Idea. :TU:

Thanks for letting us know about this Ron. :TU:

I hope they find the little thieves and justice is properly served. If they come my way, they won't be capable enough to ever drive a car ever again. :blast:

Some folks my want to consider on board security systems. I have installed these systems at construction sites and in contractors trucks. Here's what features can be installed:

On board GPS. Tracks vehicles every movement.
On board hidden cameras. Inside and out. These cameras are Internet Accessable and wireless using Verisons Broadband cards.

Here is just one of the products:

If your on a budget like most of us are, the best thing to do is put the coil wire under your pillow at night!!! :TU:

Does the car have anything that makes it simple to distinguish? In other words, a particular feature that no other Buick has. A particular dent maybe, an inscription, something weird about the windshield wipers, etc.- this way it will be easier to tell in case we see it at a track or somehitng.

Or, in the worst case that this is stripped by the theives and sold as parts, is there something unique about the engine that would enable us to distiguish it?

Some more things to look for (besides "Jilly" which might be able to be removed) would help us be wary.

So sorry to hear about this.

Well I was out to Hershey yesterday and sure would have noticed it coming or going. Lots of nice Buicks but didn't see this one.

Roberta and all RAIN is a thiefs best friend. Nobody hanging around outside. Plenty of time to take what you want with very little interuption.

Even if you do catch these scum the revolving door with spit them back out pronto. If you do beat them to a pulp YOU will be serving time :spank: I miss the ole' days.

I would like to have some sort of alarm on the car/trailer/tow vehicle that alerts me inside the hotel at first touch. :blast:

The idea is is to play their game. Catch them in the act, just be careful that there is a look out watching, he may come after you. You must be quick and strike hard from the rear sides of knee caps (bat would be preferred and swing for the fences) and be angry. Follow up with one on the mid section kidney (start yelling loud to alert others) I'd say the head but truthfully you don't want to kill the scumbag. If the scumbag look out comes over start yelling to the top of your lungs like a psyco and start swinging. This will alert others to come outside. Stand your ground. And wack the guy squirming on the ground across the back so he can't get up and to show your pissed and you mean business. Chances are the lookout will flee. Use your judgement cause you can always turn and flee cause at that time they are not taking the car.

When the cops come you tell them that you interrupted them stealing your car (walk up to the cops limping and look real scared. Tell them that the guy turned on you and smacked you with a bat and you both were fighting, you for your life cause you were real scared and the thief turned on you. Tell the cops you need an medical treatment, your side hurts from being hit and you are having trouble breathing. You have to stress that you were scared for your life and you are injured. Also show them the bat that "the" scumback tried to kill you with. (leave bat on the ground). DO NOT EVER SAY TO THE COPS: "The scum bag should die, I'm glad I wacked him with my bat" That shows intent and may put you in a hot seat. Remember you are the victim play act like one.

Get my drift here. Bottom line the bad guys lie and cheat and get off. So you have to do the same. Play their game. The burden of proof will fall on them not you cause you are the victim. I know it's not proper to do this but in a society that protects the poor abused theives, you have to learn to protect yourselves. Make the system work for you as the lawyers and theives make it work for them. I for one would sleep like a baby only wishing I'd wack the scumbag a few more times.

As for a silent alarm: It is called: "The Reporter" a wireless motion detector sells for under $100. Northern Tool Equipment sells it and this link at Smart Home
    http://www.smarthome.com/searchweb.asp?q=the+reporter

A car boot would be about the best method on turning a would be theif away. Costly but think how much your car and tow rig costs.

No I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express  Attorney? :Dou: No please don't like them. (sorry to all you lawyer guys out there) I even have two relatives that are lawyers. Hell, some people hate cops, I don't take offense, it's their free choice.

Anyway I actually did 20 years and 2 days in the NYPD leaving from the Detective Unit did all 20 in the South Bronx. Including 6 years undercover work in the narcotics unit. Six years in the Detective squad, solved 17 of 21 homicides assigned to me in that span. I played by the book and saw many get off lightly. Because of my job I could not and would not deviate from the book played fair and watched the bad guys lie and get off a lot of times or lightly punished. But now I'm retired from the PD and answer to no one (well maybe my wife :Dou: ). I play now by my own rules, family and friends come first over everything.

Artie just some first hand street knowledge picked up along the way and inside views of the criminal court system.

I was a Manhattan North guy. Not a fan of criminal defense attorneys. I don't want to bore you with my resume. Yes, the rules do change while you on and now off.

A little joke here guys, The Lawyer, and the Cop

Subject: FW: Lawyer and the Deputy

    -
A lawyer runs a stop sign and gets pulled over by a Sheriff's Deputy.
He thinks that he is smarter than the Deputy, because he is sure that he
has a better education. He decides to prove this to himself.

Deputy says, " License and registration, please. "

Lawyer says, " For what? "

Deputy, " You didn't come to a complete stop at the stop sign. "

    Lawyer, " I slowed down. "

Deputy, " You still didn't come to a complete stop, license and
    registration please. "

    Lawyer, " What's the difference? "

Deputy, " The difference is, you have to come to a complete stop, that's
    the law."

Lawyer, " If you can show me the legal difference between slow down and
stop, I'll give you my license, registration and you can give me a
ticket. If not, let me go with no ticket. "

Deputy, " Exit your vehicle sir. "

At that point, the Deputy takes out his nightstick and starts beating
the crap out of the lawyer and says, " DO YOU WANT ME TO STOP OR SLOW
    DOWN? "

I have a hidden fuel pump cutoff switch.

I will now also unplug my MSD box at night while at an event.

I am also thinking about either removing one wheel and setting the car on a jackstand or buying a boot (I doubt the thieves will carry a jack and lugwrench to steal a tire from another car and put it on mine).

As was mentioned earlier, we must disable not only our cars but our tow rigs as well.

I am all for volunteer 2 or 3 hour shifts each night during events. Seeing as how the parking lot at the Red Roof Inn usually goes until 2 or 3 AM, I'll gladly go to bed early one night and come out at 2AM and stay up til 6AM or even until it is time to go to the track. I'll gladly work on 4 hours sleep to keep our cars safe.

Should we have a volunteer signup sheet with pre-established times and dates for the next Salem Nationals?

Jill's car was a plain jane 71 Skylark with late model bucket seats with seat covers installed, gauges mounted where the radio would be and no console. The only marks on the exterior were a few cracks in the paint on left sail panel and a few blisters on the trunk lid. Engine was a 455 with 73 Stage 1 heads and TA intake with everything painted Buick red. Mickey Thompson headers and 3" exhaust. AC was removed and the ac box was covered over as well. Park Ave radiator, MSD 6AL box and HEI, Q-Jet and 12 bolt posi with 3:73 gears.
Again any leads on the car would be great but especially Doug's 87 GMC Suburban and Carl's black trailer would be appreciated.

    Got VIN's on these vehicles?

Unlikely they will make it all the way down here to KY, but if they do, me and my "friends" will get your stuff back.

You, however, will be responsible for cleaning the blood, guts, and eye-balls out of the trunk of my cadillac.

    @#$%^ scum-bags :af:
