This SUCKS!!! The equipment is some where CLOSE, and probably being parted, & I HOPE they catch the Little SOBs before things get out hand, and things can be recovered. I also hope the Police get there 1st, to save the group their Jail time, although "Dead People make Lousy witnesses." (from Local Police Chief) JR
How crazy. The law is too easy on the idiots pulling this stuff. It takes a combination of a lot of guts, no fear of the law, stupidity and not to mention a total disrespect of other's property to do something like that. I would suggest these options: 1. Notify the local police of an upcoming group stay at the given hotel. Ask them to patrol the place. You'd be surprised at how willing they are to do this since everyone is supplying the rolling bait. 2. Tell the hotel that folks are hesitant to stay at their place during an event based on past thefts. This may prompt them to hire security during the event. 3. Contact a local security company, find out how much it would cost for a guard each night and ask all attendees if they would be willing to chip in. 4. Ask the hotel if they would permit the normal parking configuration to be changed for a certain area of the lot during an event. Hotel parking spot layouts are made for easy access in and out. Mix it up and park bumper to bumper if you have to. Agree on a "curfew", an hour which no rides from the group should be seen moving. Communicate this to security, the hotel and the cops. 5. Lock and load.
I am so sorry to hear this. First E-town and now Cecil. Things are just getting to be too much lately. Now the tow rigs and cars are not safe. What a mess! Have been stuck at work and not even on the computer lately and the first thing I see when I sign on is another theft. :af: If there is anything I can do, let me know. Mark
This situation absolutely royally sucks. How about checking the major truckstops around the area. There is a Flying "J" at exit 100, a Petro and a Travel Centers of America at exit 109. It's possible that the stolen vehicles were loaded onto a car carrying tractor trailer at or around these locations. If so, they'd be long gone by now. :ball: :ball: I really wouldn't be surprised to hear that Doug's Suburban might be found somewhere in the vicinity, but I fear that Jill's Skylark may not be so fortunate. :af: Shoot first :blast: :blast: ask questions later. Even though I'm 1600 miles away, eyes are watching uzzled: up here.
I wanted to post a picture of Jilly's car, but that part of the V8 BB apparently is not working. I posted the picture in this thread on the BPG BB. Everyone take a good look, and be on the lookout. I say, if one of us catches this slime, we hold one more Buick event, A LYNCHING OF THE GUILTY PARTY. Mr Hecker can do the skull cracking portion :spank: http://www.bpgforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1784
Just got Home from Cecil. Man getting up this morning sucked. Sorry to all. Chris ? truck was also vandalized. Ron # 1 topic paying or volunteer guards at night was a big topic today. 20 bucks or so depending on how many people and we WILL have security. Aw man Hindsight with 20/20 vision :Smarty:
Just to add to Phill's post. Chris (sorry forgot last name) had his truck and trailer with his 69 GS in the back of the hotel. The same jerks must have first tried to take his stuff as the passenger side door handle was pried out as they must have attempted to pop the lock. For unknown reasons they gave up moved to the front and took Doug's truck with Jill Csordas's car on the trailer. Pretty scary my Centurion and GS was parked close by and all you need is to cut the top and pop the ignition. Tonight I'm ordering a boot and a real nice security piece that Dave Shaker showed me. A taser club! It looks and acts like the regular club except was activated it is charged with 50,000 volts and when touched will shock the theif like a taser. I'll be posting this item along with other security stuff.
Gee whiz! I can't believe this, what a total misfortune! Hope they find the scumbags too. and did they do this in the rain??????????????? :af: ou: I also posted on the BCA web site, and sent my brother an email as he's 50 miles or so north of the event near I-83, and has lots of friends! Check this out: http://www.lok-itt.com
I can believe that there are idiots combing the parking lots trying to get what we worked so hard for. I think that this is a wakeup call to all of us when we attend these meets. What we need to do is immobilize not only our tow vehicles, but the vehicles(and trailers) that are towing behind them. When something of this nature happens,we become extremely angry. Just to have you all know: We all being watched very carefully by car theives(thugs) at the events we advertise. When we post about having a major car event, the car theives swing into action and the search is on for that particular car, truck,or trailer. These people are trained crooks whose mission is to steal our pride and joy. We will continue to attend these events, but must exercise caution when we park our vehicles. In closing, the people who committed this theft,I hope to God that you are dealt with. If you think nothing will happen to you, think again.
Wow so sorry to hear this!!!!! Hope everything is found ASAP and we have to start blocking all our stuff in at these hotels!!!!! ou:
I wonder why?  Wouldn't you like to find the punk that did this, stick that club up where the sun never shines, and activate it :eek2:
