just a cool statement clipping from a thread of a thread lol

He has now promised to see all TA Perf projects through. Which include 455 block, all new 455 cylinder head, 350 sp-1 intake, 350 Stg1SE alum head. Secondary projects, new 455 single 4 intake for new heads + valve cover, 350 stg1TE, Stg2SE & Stg2TE heads/ will need intake 350 sp-2.

so we may now cross off 455 block, and add and then scratch out 215buick/rover heads and then add rover intake to the list.

From observation it looks like the "product priority list" would go something like this..
    Rover s/p intake
    new 455 heads
    350 stg. 1 s/p intake
and then finally 350 AL heads!
    and ofcourse all secondary stuff

Buick 340 (left) P76 single plane with spacers (right)

    Size is OK.... but....
Port size is not so OK... It would work fine with 64 Buick 300 heads. Not so much with the later ones or the TA heads...

News from Bill Laney "Maxwedge" (Willpower) is that he will look at making a 340 intake if and when he gets a look at a set of the new TA heads. So you guys wanting aluminum heads, here's your answer, everything is pretty much in place. Heads, headers, and intake. Or you could just wait another couple years or so for 350 parts...

I'm sure we'll drop a set on to see how it looks haha. We have our tig welder hooked up now so maybe I'll start practicing making an intake :Brow:

For my engine? Probably not haha, we've been working on my iron heads for a year now and are going to finish them up in the next few weeks. Doesn't mean I wont play around with something though.

Everything should be pretty close except for the center pushrods, and they will be out of position by nearly 3/8" at the lifters, or about 1/4 to 1/3rd of that where the pushrod goes through the head. The issue will be clearance at the intake runner wall on the two center pushrods. Beat that and you're home free.

If what Randy says is true, there is no issue with pushrod clearance.

Woo Hoo! Just got one step closer!

this would be cool if all else works well

my problem besides the custom cam would be selling my turbo manifolds for another pair with the 300/340 layout..but it'd be definatly worth it to resell and rebuy

Hey Mike (Jr), are you guys going to number the heads? I never looked at the 455 heads to see if they were numbered or not and now they're out in Illinois so I can't look for another 2 weeks, but I think it'd be a real good idea, and might even help sell that 4th set of heads if they haven't been spoken for yet. (I'd buy them myself if I could)

  18. I spoke with Mike Sr today and the heads are going to run $3000 or more a pair due to the market they are targeted towards (england/australia)

Ouch. I hope that price includes shipping (to England/Austrailia)????

  20. They are also coming out with an intake to work with the new heads but when i asked if it was for a 215, 300 or 340 they were surprised to hear that they all have different deck heights. :Do No:
