I am woundering what is going on with the new head design from TA Performance for the Buick sb/Rover. What stage is it in? Can we see a preview? What are the stats on, ie flow, etc..? I'm going to build a 500 hp buick/rover sometime soon. I don't want to use those british wildcat heads if I can get it right here. I am desperate for some info and pics!!! Help me please!

Best bet is to call TA and ask them, they could always use more encouragement.

yea, I did infact call them and It seem to be a frustrating issue. That was about 2 months ago. I was hoping there would be some light at the end of the table. Mike said this would out perform the wildcat heads from england. They can produce 500+ hp.

We've run into issues with the pattern maker that have delayed the project, I think we were looking into someone else finishing the heads and if so it should go much quicker.

No time frame because the project has stalled for the moment and is currently under way working something out (from what I've overheard) and no pictures because the patterns aren't complete yet.

If you want a rough guesstimate I'd say within the year

does this pattern maker issue also road block the 350 stuff?

i presume that the 455 block is past the patternmaking stage but what about the intakes?

Thanks Mike, I'll keep checking in from time to time and see for updates. If and when you get any stats on the heads, could you post them on the blogs (cfm flow, etc..)? Thanks.

No, if everything goes as smooth as planned we're going to use the new pattern maker who says he'll work on whatever the project is and wont stop until he finishes. Soo that means projects should take a fifth of the time that they have :TU: the only road block on the 350 stuff is financial things.

Right now idk what the block is held up on, its in the machining phase so its something with who we're having machine them.

It's estimated that the rover head patterns will be done and at the foundry in 8-10 weeks. :beers2:

For those who were wondering what the head might look like, take our V6 head and imagine another cylinder on it and viola! thats basically the new head. We're also expecting flow numbers around 300 cfm or more (intake).
