Dave, you know this is a celebration for you when you move to texas in 2046. Well you will have to come and find out when your at the outlaws.

Dave I got the block back from the machinist. All I need is a neopreme rear main seal, To assemble the bottom end. Then a few other things to fully assemble my little old buick motor.

I live in Garland which is a suburb of Dallas on the east side.

I am not a member of BPG. I am a member of the GSCA and the local Chapter Lone Star Performance Buick Club.

Lot's of Buicks in the DFW area there are about 80-90 members in the local chapter check out www.lspbc.org for info on the Chapter and upcoming events.

The next club meeting is scheduled for Feb 8th, 4pm at Spring Creek BBQ in Addison, Tx. If your interested we would love to have you join us, we will roll out the club racing program for this year and info about our car shows we do every year.

And as of this writing there are no plans to be back in S.A. this year but stay tuned you never know!

Just a note: If y'all come up with something please post it. The first meeting of the year for the Houston Buick Club is January 25.

It's at Conley's Shop 1443-A Aldine Bender in Houston. It is also our 3rd annual Chili Cook Off :stmad: If you can come down that would be great if not, post the information and I can let the members know.

Hey guys it looks as if we all need to combine our resources. We got the dallas club/houston club and I am trying to get something done for austin. Just a thought. As for all of us getting together well It all depends on how many people show. I would suggest we all meet. on a test and tune day at seguin (not 100% still waiting on ideas to filter in) If you want to spectate and mingle that would be great if you want to race. Each individual would pay there way. This saves us from renting a track. Although I am a bit novice at the orginizational stuff, I still would like all your input. thanks Again guys.

Test and tune at Seguin sounds perfect in my book. If we could avoid the first Sat of the month--that's our car club races here in Houston...

Test and Tune days at seguin are Wednesday (Grudge night) and Friday. So, we would have to plan something for friday if we wanted to get in with no troubles. I think that might be kind of hard, considering many of us have work/school/or some other obligation during the week. We would pretty much need all of friday, starting sometime in the afternoon at Randy's for B-Sin' and BBQ, then the track opens at 6:00.

I'm not saying it is a bad idea, but I think maybe we should find some way to get a saturday planned. I don't know how many of us will actually race (I probably won't be), but we could just kind of take over the "street stock" class or something to that effect. But, here again, I don't know what the cost is on running on a satruday, especially if they have a big event that weekend. Just things to consider...

Well if you look at the schelule of River City (now San Antonio Raceway) http://www.rivercityracewayinc.com/

They also have a Car Club Bash on one Sunday of the month.

This might be something to look at. We could all race under the Buick Preformance Group  and would not have to worry about renting the track.

    Just throwing up suggestions.

Neal excellent Idea. do you think they will go for say 30 cars for bpg. anyways I am up for it. I think thats the best route so far. We want to keep this low cost and avoid track rental.

Well being that San Antonio Raceway (now called) is an IHRA track, I would guess they run theres the same as the Sealy track.

What they want is a club name and everyone that techs in tells them or writes on there tech card what club they belong to. For each round the club gets points and if you have enough points at the end of the year the club gets a trophy. Not that we have to worry about a trophy but a place to play.

The Fbody club (not really a club, just a name for Fbodies to run under) has usually 20 to 50 cars per month at the Sealy Track so I don't think they care about us.

The plus side would be anyone who went to play at the Car Club Bash would just use the Buick Performance Group name and gain points for the group anyway.

Neal thanks for brining up that point. This would be good for all the dedicated racers and for the occasional racer who would want to frequent the track. Now that we have a game plan how about starting an email list that way we can continue to talk about this and try to work out the kinks. Everyone intrested email me at dfite@flash.net and use the title buick as we get spammed pretty good. Or if one of the moderaters would be kind enough to make this tread a sticky for a little while that would be great also.
    thanks everyone for your input.

    TX get together

Phil asked me to identify myself, so here we go.
My name is Adi Glatz and I live just outside of Dallas. I am involved with Buicks since 83 when I worked for a local Buick Dealeship as a technician. I really started getting serious about those cars when I purchased my own 87 GN. In the meantime I owned serveral GN,s GS's including one GSX.
I also was the Lone Star Performance Buick Director for 3 years.

I am always game for an informal get together, so what ever you all decide my wife and myself would like to join.

    Adi G.
