I think that Randy's Seguin option is sounding pretty good at this point. It is pretty evenly spaced between Houston and Dallas, and is pretty easy for our Austin and San Antonio members to get to. I haven't heard much from all of the texas people on the board, so if you think you might be able to make it Speak Up!! We also need to set a tenative date, or kind of get an idea. Maybe sometime in late feb-march to try and avoid any last winter blasts?

Seguin works for me. Once we have a date I'll spread the word among the Houston Club.
Question--do we want to invite the hair driers? Most of our local club is turbo people. I'm sure many would come.

Fortunatly hair dryers came in buicks. We have a few of those ttype and GN'S up here in austin as well. And one of the GN guys from DFW is likely to come. So call out the skylarks and GS's We don't want to ge out numbered.

So that we might be able to start working on a date here.... Randy, when would be a good time to try and set something up for using the shop for the meet?

Hair Dryers!!! :jd: And that is BUICK :bglasses: not just buick. Sorry I only got a little Turbo V6 in this world of V8 BUICKS :Do No:

Phil was kind enough to invite me to post what I posted to the BPG BB on the idea of getting together. And by the way I live about 50 miles south of Houston, please don't hold that against me :)

    Hey guys.
Last year the LSPBC (Dallas Club) held a event at Sequin. This is a nice track. A number of us got their the night before and had a little parking lot party, it was fun!! The next morning we drove down to the track for a day of playing. :beer

The reason for LSPBC going to River City over Ennis was cost!
Like the Baytown track (big tracks) they have raised the cost to hold a local event to the point where it's very hard for a club to hold an event at them (Like $6,000 + crew and safety stuff) If I was told or remember right River City's cost was in the $2,000 range.

Being Seguin is a 4 hour (one way) trip for me it's not bad, Noble is 8 hours (one way) and I enjoy Noble very much. To hold an event at River City might be a good choice in both cost and the ability to attract others to join in. I think Art Freeman drove the longest distance to attend.

I think if you set a date that don't cause problems with another event or to close to another event it would be fun! I can't speak for others in the Houston Buick Club or Lone Star Performance Buick Club but depending on the date (and if Nasty wants to play) would enjoy coming to the event.

Maybe since the LSPBC has held an event there and I think will do it again, a group effort could be made or at least to agree to meet at there event and help them out. Also maybe a Saturday event so some of us have Sunday to travel back. Racing all day long and then a sprint back home the same day is hard on us old fokes hehehe. For me I guess it don't make any difference, I would either take Friday off or Monday off :)

    Just some ideas

Welcome Neal, however as for the hair drier. well we all can't be perfect. Welcome over and thanks for sharing your thoughts on the event.

Randy Since the ball is in your court, When would be a good time for an event and when would be a bad time to start a rebellion in your back yard.

    Thanks Everyone.

Just a note: Randy you may want to check http://www.lspbc.org/
and there dates to there is no conflict. If you don't see anything there I am on there mailing list and can ask what dates there going to do.

Let me know if I can help.

Noble had a BBQ last year at the end of there event. This was a first for them and was icing on the cake  Good People and lots of bench racing.

    Take Care

I haven't even mentioned this to my wife yet but let me discuss it with her this weekend and we'll see if we can figure out a good time for us. Even if it doesn't work out to use my shop area, there is a lot of room at the track and they may not have a problem with bbq pits there either. We would have to ask. I see a lot of motor homes there when I go and some of the people leave them there all the time. I think they are pretty easy to get along with. I'll try to post a reply about using my shop by monday. I think it would be a lot of fun as long as my neighbors don't get upset about the noise.

Randy I inquired earlier about a friend with a 70 W30 at RCR. The big event at RCR is Feb 28-March 3..IHRA...apparently the FIRST IHRA event of the year so Top Fuel and everything else will be there!!!....

My 70 W30 friend said there's another guy with a Buick at RCR..not you apparently as this other Buick is from the Taylor area...so it looks like we have another Buick to track down.

    Thnx, Patton

I have not been to the track since last spring. I was too busy finishing my shop to go. I have been there with all my cars at one time or another, but the only time I ever ran one was about 3 yrs ago I decided to see what my yellow gsx would do one night. I had never been on a track before so it was an interesting experience. My car is all stock and has power everything so it's best time was a low 14. It would probably do better with a real driver.

phil The guy I am talking about has a running car....I think I know who you are talking about and he has 2-3 Buicks...out in his yard by a metal quonset hut type shop...not the same guy as the guy my friend is referring to has a VERY clean 70 455 car. I think the guy you are thinking about is the same one me and a friend picked up a Cutlass parts cars from (4 speed '71) a few weeks back.
