Guy's, I tryed to make this happen for us but there is just way too little support to pull it off.

If anyone else has the time to make it happen I will support it in anyway I can. I just do not have the time or funds to put into it at this time.

    I plan on being there.

So, if we can't be offical we could still have a "showing" of Suncoupes.

A member here Brad has a yellow suncoupe and he did the roof swap to a good donor shell. Not that hard for a good metal man to do it. if you google Suncoupe you can find pics from his old site. His car will pop up and I probably have some pics here.

That roof in MO has been on E-bay for awhile for sale mainly because he wants $500.00 for just a bare/striped suncoupe metal frame.

You have to get it/have it shipped then find the rest (I know where ), and find a shop that will recover it.

I have one here that I will sell cheaper, but you will have to come and get it.

I plan on being at the Nationals. I already have the time off and my room reserved and paid for. I hope to have a car there if at all possible.

I will help plan and set up the reunion get together. I can't head it up as I have so much going on with working the averager of 58 hours a week, a son in college, another working on preparing himself to start college and a wife that does not drive to add to my every day we need this and that tasks.

Let me know if someone can head it up and I will do my best to be the right hand person......

I just bought a sun coupe. I'm going to need some parts to make it work right again. I might be able to get it road worthy for a reunion.

Welcome to the Suncoupe owners group.

Please contact Steve Caruso (Underdog 350) with your vin and any other known information you have on your car. He has kept a very nice registry of our cars. They are quite rare and many have made their way to razor blades via salvage yards and China.

We hope to have you at the reunion in October at the GS Nationals. It does not matter what condition the car is in. Evenif it has to be trailered in. We need every car possible.

I know Steve well. I'll give him a call. Will try to make the meet in October, searching for a replacement frame as we speak.

I will try to take this on. I plan on starting a new thread after speaking with Beamer, Caruso and GSCA. Wondering if anyone really wants to do this. I thought why not get some shirts made with the gold Suncoupe logo. Most of us have a hat made by Jon Hardin and they are very nice. Steve was working on a trophy and I can probably finish that up too, since he was using one of my emblems for the trophy:). So if this is going to happen all you Suncoupe owners will have to commit to bringing the cars out. Finished or not. These are rare and unique cars that have a place in the club.
For now I know there is a replacement handle, handle gear and material available for the roof and headliner. So for now, I'll start a new thread with what I think might make this a fun experience.

    Thanks !

We need participation and a valued quantity to show for this to look good. There are some very interesting arguements on how many Suncoupes were put out. One fact for sure, a fire destroyed all the documentation and we will never know for sure. Some say that there were some 4300 or so Suncoupes and there are some that state that there were barely 2100. Aslo that Buick recalled these tops as there was no provisions for water drainage and cut the top off and put regular hard tops back on, and apparently did not document how many cars they did this to. Add that to the the number of cars that have been permanenantly retired, we have a very low number of cars still seeing road time. We need every possible car to show up. Be proud of you Suncoupe. They are such a blast to drive. They gather quite a bit of attention at car shows. Share the information to people as they stop to look at your car, they will enjoy it.
