    Oh, for Pete's sake...

Everybody go outside and change the air in your tires - it'd be more productive that getting upset over your favorite thread getting killed off, even if the thread were about the finer points of cam timing.

Right now. Don't delay, that air's been in there for quite awhile, and it's prolly stale...

just last night, while sitting on the porch drinking a few beers, my girlfriend and i were discussing the subject of how things in life tend to go too far with some people. it starts as little kids when we were playing with our toys. SOMEONE always ends up taking someone else's toy, or throws their toy at someone, or someone breaks someone's toy, and then MOM has to get involved! it seems like all through life, someone has to go just a little too far past where common sense would normally place limits on our behavior. now, we cant go have a few beers and drive home from the bar without fear of being pulled over for DUI or being hit by somone who doesnt know the limits of getting too drunk to drive. now we have to drive with our seatbelts fastened and our insurance up to date, not because WE are bad drivers or are prone to getting into wrecks, but because someone else did drive and get into a wreck and didnt have the maturity or responsebility to be insured or wear their seatbelt. seems like everyday, some activity that we have taken for granted we could do the way we want to do gets taken away from us or gets regulated to death because someone has to go just a little too far over that line. i thought brian's orignial post and the idea that went with it [as i interpreted it] was pretty FUNNY! not sexest, not prejudice, not anti-women, chevys, old cars, ebay, not anything but FUNNY. i didnt get to see the guy pic that was posted, but i probably would have thought that was FUNNY as well. seems to me, instead of deleteing the entire thread, the mods should have just "edited" the offending additions or given the posters a chance to rethink what they were posting that may have actually been offending. OR BETTER YET, MAYBE WE SHOULD ALL THINK A BIT ABOUT HOW OUR ACTIONS AFFECT OTHERS before we 'shoot our respective mouths off', as it were. this is how things like THIS get started in the first place. dont make me have to tell your mommy!

    i completly AGREE with that.

I can handle the pictures they do not bother me. I saw the thread kept popping up under my daily unread search. i knew what it was, scanned through a couple times at least... knowing what was there :Brow: . i didn't scan through it at the point where the attacks came in OR may not have seen it as i was looking at the ebay items that were posted for my viewing :Brow: So this thread is the only reason i know about the attacks. Does it bother me that the thread got deleted? No. Can look that stuff up elswere if i feel? Yes.

There are many different people on the board with different points of view and other iterests. Trying to allow room for any other interest or arguments about things other than buicks is not always possible. Probably impossible.

The focus of this board is buicks. Now, if a person started a thread about how he/she did such and such mod on this or that on their buick... and a mod deleted it... because he/she didn't agee with it, i would be mad. That would be censorship along the lines of a buick focus. The way i see it if you delete anything non buick related, it is fair game. It is not reletive to the intended Buick content. If Mike needs to put an end to a negetive, non productive, non buick thread.... then fine. Nothing is wrong with that.

You have a 1st amendment right. That right includes you starting your own site, putting naked girls on it, and putting down whomever you want. You can also start your ownsite about how the guy with the girls and the puns is wrong for doing it. You can even be like gritty kitty and start your own buick site and bash all of us on the v8 as much as you please, after you have been kicked off every buick board for being a trouble maker...repeatedly. the members of this board will probably do well, not hear about it.

Here is a clip from a '68 Buick commercial.... Them guys/gals at Buick were naughty back then....shame on them. :pp This is only one clip from a 4 second shot from this angle :spank: I guess we should all rethink our support for Buick after seeing this...

I can TOTALLY identify with that. that what my 'will you puke if someone posts another poll' poll was hinting at. I son't mind the socializing at all... but it gets to the point where i have to "wade" through a bunch of crap before i can get to any thing worth while.

The bench is not just for car related topics. I don't think there are rules stating that there needs to be any car chat on the Bench. Just go with the flow chat. It could be car prices or peanut butter and all in between.

Social chats only strengthen organizations, if you ask me.

Wow, this is a big thread on one subject. I'm not sure what happened at the end of that thread, so I can't say much. I wouldn't say it was a bad thread, but then again, I'm not actually sure why it was deleted.

Oh well, I guess us Buick guys can't share pictures of nice looking girls after this, we'll have to find them for ourselves.

Oh and BTW, there's too much to read in this thread. Or maybe most of you guys can type fast.

    My opinion.

    Thanks,
    Anthony :3gears: :beer
