If this is the most important thing to some of you people then you must not have a whole lot to worry about. To me it's totally inconsequential. I thought we were all about racing and restoration here. To me, this other stuff is just a side show. And as far as I'm concerned the mods and Jim can limit the side show to their heart's content. That's not why most of us are here.

Hi Mike, How are you? Please don't waste any time deliberating. No one here is begging for the old thread back. As the originator of the thread, I did, at one time, envision it running to "infinity". I no longer desire to see it back. As someone has already said, it was all in fun. That fun has been terminated by the man from Mars in a completely unprovoked attack. While some others may think there are better things to do, I for one come here to get away from those "better things" like cutting grass and enjoy some like minded individuals. {i.e. GUYS WHO LIKE CARS and GIRLS and maybe BEER and COUNTRY and FAMILY and maybe FOOTBALL-you get the point} There are a few girls on here including one from Michigan that has all the respect I can muster. But one that comes onto what has to be a male dominated site, and fails to have an once of compassion for what we hold dear, is nothing more than a trouble maker. I thought the thread in question was in the name of fun. I didn't get offended and hope I didn't offend (but I really don't spend my life trying not to). I try to word things so children wouldn't be able to understand it if they did read it. Bottom line to me is, I don't care who you are, where you live, what you do for a living. You might offend someone today. You may not even know it, but still do it. We are all different people with different ideals of what is offensive. If you live your life worrying about offending someone, just dig a hole and crawl in it.
Keith Let me preface this by saying that I have no problem with your sexual orientation. Gay isnt a lifestyle choice. Gay people are born gay. Some of my best friends are gay. It doesnt bother me. That aside, when I started this thread, I wasnt upset, threatened or offended about the picture you posted. Your right, as you said it's got nothing to do with gay, straight or whatever. You didnt like the thread. Thats your right. The problem I have as I stated earlier was the way in which you went about getting rid of it. I question your motives here. If you didnt like it, there is a procedure. Email a mod, take it up in the bench (again, as I have done) etc. You had to realize what you would have started with that picture. You made it perfectly clear to me when we met that you had a big problem with some of the members on this board. In fact, you asked Jim to remove your screen name from here. You were going to go hang out on the BCA board instead. I think you had a personal agenda that is quite clear now.
Al Having been here since day one I suugest that out of 9638 members less than 50 have left over the concerns you raise -- perhaps less than 25. Most commend the Board for striking a delicate balance between anything goes and censorship. There is just no way to satisfy the concerns of all under all circumstances. Please bear with us while we work throgh this process under some difficult circumstances that are going to occur anywhere unless you go to a site that has no moderation. A no moderation policy brings along its own set of perils and resulting complaints. Compared to the great body of information exchange about Buicks that this Board has provided to all of us this incident is but a small bump in a long road.

I for one I'm getting tired of keeping up on a interesting thread just to see it deleted. How would you like to read a good book and have it keep your interest then have it pulled over and over! I made a thread about this thinking it would help but I guess not. As far as I said erlier in this post about weeds, I think I'm going to weed my self from this site. I believe Mike implied he did and he was waiting for JW's return for the review and final call. JW has been away through all of this and has not yet returned so this will hit him fresh when he returns. On a personal basis ,while recognizing the impossible job the mods have, I said earlier that I think there may be a middle ground here. JW I understand will be back tonight.
Al, I was watching that entire thread, and there was a warning posted by a moderator to stay on topic, which apparently was ignored, thus the termination with extreme prejudice. For the record, I found that thread rather interesting initially, when it took a left turn into personal attacks, that's when its future seemed doomed. (and no, I'm not a moderator) This one looks like it could suffer the same fate, should personal attacks and insults escalate. Can we not keep things on topic. :grin:
