It was never a dull moment when Ron was around.
He always asked me about my Dad and how he was doing. He loved busting balls with my dad.

To my dear friend Ron - F YOU for not calling first to tell me you were checking out !!

Those who knew Moon will get this .. and those that didn't should wish they did.

There was only one Moon .. and that was a good thing.

    Much love buddy ..

I really can’t believe it. He just commented on his 72 the other day and I thought “man I haven’t seen Moon around lately”.
Met him when he brought his ZR1 to BG. He was checking in to the hotel and I commented on the car and the tag. ZR1FUN.
He said yeah that’s my wife’s idea. Next year I’M picking the tag! RIP Moon.

Jerry - in typical Moon fashion, he parked and left the ZR1 front and center in the hotel entrance (where Im guessing you saw it ..) and left it there all night going to bed.

Later that night the Police showed up to investigate some shenanigans from the bar and I saw their cars parked around the Z so I took some pics

Next morning I woke up kinda early, went into the Lobby area to get a cup of coffee. I start drinking my coffee, playing on my phone, and saw there were a few N.E. gang members standing around. I look out and see the Z still parked there and remember the photo from last night so I typed the following text to Moon

    "911 ... 911 ... 911 Yo !! 5.0 is lighting up your ZR1 - hotel mgmt must have called and they're gonna tow it !!"

.. and I said to the group, "Watch this - here comes Moon", hit "Send" and started counting out loud

1 .. 2.. 3..4..5..6 and ZOOM!! Moon comes flying through the lobby pants half undone, right past us all, FLIES out the door ... and just stands there a few seconds looking at his car. He stands there a few more moments, turns around and comes in .. sees us all cracking up and right away says "F You WANDER !! I'll get you .. "

I remember coming back from Columbus one year. Ron's most optioned GN starting puking coolant out of the water pump weep hole. We made it all the way to Allentown, Pa when it let go completely. Not being able to find a water pump in stock anywhere, we were contemplating our options. AAA happened to be towing another motorist from the hotel we had stopped at. I have AAA+ with 100 miles of free towing. When I told Allan Wander that, he told me to use it for Moon's GN. I was unaware that I didn't need to be in MY car, I just needed to be there. Well we got flat bedded a little over 100 miles across Manhattan into Queens. I never saw Moon so happy to pay a 20.00 towing bill, never saw him whip out his wallet so fast either:D. He was so happy he even gave the tow truck driver a 50.00 tip.

Ron, I've been thinking about you a lot lately. I was waiting to hear from you when you got back from Washington. My mistake. I should have contacted you. I haven't seen you since the Spring and you live only a mile away. Again, my mistake. Lesson learned brother. I'll miss you.
