Got a call from Ron’s wife this morning. Ron had a massive heart attack and passed in his sleep last night. Funeral arrangements not certain at this time. I will miss my friend dearly, he was one of a kind.

Wow, saddened to read this Larry, Condolences to His Family, Ron was a great guy and quite the Joker at times. But always a friend and the guy you wanted to hang around in the parking lot, talking cars. R.I.P. Ron

Oh no.... I'm absolutely crushed to hear this. I always had a blast hanging with Moon at events and looked forward to the outrageous tales at dinner and in hotel parking lots. He could be polarizing to some, but he had a personality a big as the city he haled from. Shared a ton of laughs with him, he will be missed deeply. RIP buddy. BG won't be the same without ya. :(

Make no mistake; Ron could be a real prick. But in spite of his prickness (or because of it), you always knew where you stood with him. If he didn't like you, you were setup for misery. But if he liked you, you were treated like royalty (provided you could handle his ball-busting). Years ago during a return caravan from the BPG Nationals, all the beer and bad food took its toll on my digestive system, and despite my attempt to find a gas station with a rest room, I was a minute too late. LOL So, I weighed my options carefully. I could tell no one and after exiting the restroom we could have continued home, or I could tell just ONE person that I "couldn't hold it" - that one person being Mooney. I knew that if I told Ron the "shart incident" would live forever. So I told him. And of course, I have endured years of public abuse at his hands. And have cherished every minute of it. Rest in Peace, Moonshot. I'll see you again someday.
