  Hold on...hold on Rob.....

Tricks? :Brow: oh Lord:Dou: naaa it's all stock....hahahahhahaahha

........   hahahahaahahahahahahaha hold it I'm getting a grip now....

oh geez stock rear suspension. Well ...hahahahaahahahhaaha oh man I just wet my pants.....hahahahaaha

Sorry Rob just lost control for a minute there while posting. That darn GS is nothing more than at huge HP Stage 1 stuffed in a potato chip of a GS.

All kidding aside I have to say you have the entire car working the way it should. Even with that "stock" :Brow: suspension. Hard work does pay off and with your GS you hit it right. Good luck with it. I am sure your gunning for those 8's. Lets hope Cecil County we have some nice cool weather.:TU:

Huh ?? you mean his isn't stock ?? Damn ... and here I was thinking our cars were almost the same because mine is almost stock too, he's got a few extra ponies but I figured I'd prolly run a 9.99 at Cecil :Do No::Dou:

    STOCK??

    Did some one say Stock?

    I like stock!

Its as stock as any GS!! I will post pictures of my upper and lower control arms made by HR parts n stuff!! They are mounted in the STOCK locations, as any other GS !:Smarty: Does Rick or Allen want to put up a little money :dollar: up to prove that I am not telling the absolute truth? And with a little luck I will be in the 9.0 range at Cecil Dragway !!! I don't think I will get that 8.99, but if I do, its got to be a record for all GM cars with the "STOCK" rear suspension!!:moonu: So any takers who want to put up or shut up!!!:Smarty:

P.S. I drove it to a car show just last night!!! It has current NJ registration but the rear plate is blocked with the Chute I just installed!!! Just a little precaution for the short tracks like Cecil and Island dragway, where not stopping in time can be dangerous to you health!!!

Oh Rob, you know I'm busting your onions:bla: Your too easy, wait until Doug gets ya:laugh: I can use the money to fix my engine. You know the "all" stock 455 I have. Roller cam in stock location, Aluminum Stage 1 TE heads well they fit on a stock location :Dou: etc...

Anyway stock you say? Now we can ask Greg to define what is stock:grin: Is it stock ..so stock it hurts or does it appear to be stock:laugh: Mr Gessler is the King of stock as we know he wrote the book on that. :) Anyway I gotta find me a GS with that rare HR Parts n Stuff "Stock" Buick option. :bla:

Oh I think Carl has that option.......hahahahahahahaha oh geez I wet my pants again....gotta get me a pair of those astronaut diapers:moonu:

Bottom line Rob, you put a ton of R&D into your car and it has done you well. You should be very proud of that, and I mean it, all kidding aside. It's running great and the entire compo including that HR optioned rear control bars really hook the car up well! Its a great product! I guess I have to be nice to ya  cause your dropping off my replacement block to Louie's this week. (Doug will be dropping the block at your shop Sunday).

I did take a peek inside my engine. So far the cam looks undamaged, no burrs or visible nicks, the heads are undamaged even both rocker arms and cups are undamaged, both pushrods were only bent slightly and both broken lifters and most of the two broken lifter bores were still up in the lifter galley. I may be able to salvage all the lower end guts, just having to do a block over. Will know this week for sure, but so far the damage appears to be only to the block. Have to thank you for installing that 2 quart Accu-Sump. That I would highly recommend to everyone racing. No doubt it saved the bottom end when the oil pressure bottomed out at about 6500 rpm.

I know I had more money in the "Stock" rear suspension on my old Green car than I now have in my Ladder Bar system.

Put some true 10.5's on it,Then nobody will expect a thing.
There's plenty of guys going low to mid 1.20's on the same tire I run.

Oh yeah.....Did you use the individual pair rocker arms?

  9. Rob C

    Rob C Rob Chilenski

Yes I am using the T&d set up like yours. The intake rockers are off set .040 away from the intake ports. This allowed Greg to compleatly remove the pushrod hump in the intake port!!:eek2: I am also using off set TA performance roller lifters!! The individual rockers our a must!! The stock style roller rockershaft will not clear the large valve springs!! Plus that is a time bomb waiting to go off!! The second a roller lifter is pushed out of the lifter bore, you loose oil pressure!! Not a good thing at 7000 RPM!!:Smarty:

Hey Gary, How good can you hook that car on a marginal track? Like the type of Day in the summer when the track crew could care less, and there are street cars mixed with race cars ALL DAY LONG?:Dou: Its 90 degrees and the starting line looks like balled up rubber? Like most test days we have before the Buick events!! Then they scrape the track for Sunday, so maybe you can get a fast small tire down it!!!:Smarty: I mean maybe? Then by the time final round comes along the track is as bad as before!! Its hot and you have to run your number which is hit or miss because most tracks are shot by now!!:moonu: There is no way a 10.5 car could make a solid run!!:bla:

    GS Kubisch THE "CUT-UP" BUICK

Pull timing Brother.........It's the key to hooking a small tire.Weather you do it by way of a digital 7 or just old fashioned retard
There are a few other things I do,My car has never really been on "Kill"
ET-wise....It's actually run fairly conservative most of the time.Went to the final at Quaker City at the first BPG,That's not a great track......for one example.
One of these days I will put some effort into this jalopy and drag it up to CECIL.......I know there's more in it:pray: :Brow:

Sorry gary My M?T were shot so I had to borrow Harts 10.5 Hoosier. To be honest I think I would have run better with the MT's. I just am out of cash this year for racing so No new tire this late in the year.

  17. Rob C

    Rob C Rob Chilenski

I agree Gary!! I have A DIGITAL-6 MSD with retard, and have dropped the 2-step to 3500 RPM !!! All to make it down the track as it gets worse and worse thurout the day! That is why I am first in the lanes Sunday morning, I know that will be my shot at running low ET for the day!! After that its all over Johney!! I have to detune the car and hope for the best!!:beers2:

Hey Bobb what size MT's do you like to run and what pressure? I just switched to them from Pheonix/Firestone and like them so far!

I'm running the Drag radials 315-60 -15. Best pressure seems to be about 19 LBS. I really like them with the digital 7 you can dial in the thing right on hte money. plus there is some other traction features you can take advantage of if the track is really bad. I did that sunday used the rpm rev curve to keep the tire spin in check on the launch.

    Hey Bob,

Have you tried some real slicks on this combo yet? Its got to be better in the 60 foot? :Do No:

I ran slicks this weekend and to be honest I have never really had any better sixty's with them. The best the car has sixty is 1.296 on slicks and 1.30 even on Drag radials. Getting 3700 LBS. rolling must take about the same effort LOL. I ran some Bias ply slicks last year and destroyed the side walls on them in less than 10 passes And never really got them to sixty like the radials. I also try and run the street classes out here haven't been able to make but two of them this year do to buick stuff. We are really talking about lightening the car up this winter and 25.5en the cert. I would like to see the car in the 20'or 30's next year
