Since GSCA said the previous run was the last , I thought this fellow (name??) had just aquired the fabricators info & was persuing it on his own ? I haven't seen any Official statments from the club on this .

As Larry Torres of T&D rocker arm fame once told me "one of the basic rules of business is never do anything for nothing!":dollar:

I have a set of these and don't run em anymore but will again.IMO no other set of headers sound like these. Like 2 garbage cans. My bud used to run a 71 drop top, GS clone and show quality, with an SP 4 engine set up and un corked at the track, it sounded better than anything there. ANYTHING!!!!!! All the big fancy trailer queens couldn't come close to his sound and performance. Great design and unbelievable sound and performance. BTW, he ran it on the street and ran 10's an the track. Put the top down and cruise home....

Besides the unique sound, what is the performance advantage of the M/T header and collector design over what's currently available, if anyone knows?

If a gain was never documented, is the hope for demand driven only by a sense of nostalgia for the M/T design?

I ask because I have an idea of tooling costs for V8 header work, both dedicated tooling for larger runs and CNC tooling for shorter runs for the tubes production-wise. Regardless of the method, the costs are substantial as there's a lot more involved than just bending the tubes.

Then it seems to me the GSCA should be actively recruiting potential buyers to make a real $$$ commitment directly to them via... what method? 100 guys HERE saying they are interested won't get them 100 buyers. It never works out that way. They should have a thread on their board where individuals can sign up officially so they have real numbers to base decisions on. Then you could actually post a link to it here.

so they are looking for a 70K commitment?

    Never going to happen.

Devon, I have tested them, a long time ago..

Nothing notable in performance over a TA header.

Folks buy them because they like the sound.

I'll second that Jim.We ran a test years ago on "Thumper" never picked up et wise one over the other. It did move the power band a little lower with the MT but the KB and TA style ran more MPH and picked it back up on the big end.

I don't think there has been very many negative comments, only comments or opinions of several well respected board members.

    The facts are:

    1. It took the GSCA seven months to deliver 20 sets of these headers back when John Chamberlain took orders on "the very last run"...

    2. The GSCA is a business that sells car club memberships, performance parts, and has an annual drag race/car show/swap meet. It has and will make a profit on the sale of any parts it sells including the MT headers.

    3. Your thread has had 1,100 views but only 5 votes so far.

I agree with the others that this pole is meaningless as far as getting another run of headers made, but you seemed determined so good luck. :TU:

I've always felt that educating a potential buyer with factual information is a positive rather than a negative. Who here disagrees with this?

For that kind of investment, don't people deserve to know what the value of the product will be?

Looking at your poll it appears there is not much interest at his time to make another run.

If you want 2 sets of these headers for your cars why don't you post a parts wanted thread and see if you can get some.

There are probably a few guys out there that decided not to use them and would be willing to sell.:Do No:

    It would fill your needs.

I play with production run sequencing all the time with my own parts..........and often have to wait until enough people want a particular piece before I can re-make them.

Right now is a horrible time to do a run, people are not buying much of anything.

If your that interested in remaking these headers why don't you take a nice set and send them to kooks or another custom header fabrication shop and see if they can dupe them?? Maybe even bring some modern technology to them and make them indivisual tubes ?? Just my .02

Individual tubes would defeat the whole purpose for the MT headers, as that combined collector is what makes the sound, which is why most people want the things in the first place.

Correct, individual tube ends at a different place in that big box of a collector. They are equal length.

No one is being hard on him. And there's no reason to hide the facts of the overall situation with these headers.
