Hey V8Buick im sure you have read that we need a minimum of 100 Order's or more! For the next run of M/T Headers,,,Know i understand that Bills/kids/wife:puzzled:/dog can get in the way of our dream's!!!With that being said!! Im not looking for 100 or more Guy's to Buy M/T Headers or put down a Deposit for M/T Headers over Night!!! But i would like to start a vote with a 100 plus of good guys looking to buy the M/T Headers,,we need to come to a common ground of what month to make the M/T Header run!!!! Just keep in mind M/T Super Scavenger Headers are one of the Buicks Big TradeMarke

You do know that there is no affiliation between the GSCA and V8Buick right?

I only ask because you keep bringing up the M/T headers on this site.

V8Buick has nothing what-so-ever to do with whether the M/T-SS headers get made or not.

V8Buick isn't affiliated with the BCA, BPG, or the GSCA...

So a poll on V8Buick about the group-buys of a car cub that has no affiliation with V8Buick is meaningless:Smarty:

Just out of curiosity how is it meaningless. The GSCA site is pretty dormant, so why not post here regardless. Is this not the largest group of Buick enthusiasts? There are people here that are not affiliated with any of the Buick clubs, and some are in all the clubs.

I will not be buying any headers from the GSCA only because I build my own and mine are much shorter:grin:.

I'm curious what's the big deal about the poll. He is just trying to see what kind of interest there is:Do No:

    Original poster,

I am assuming you want to purchase 2 sets of headers for your cars. You do know what they sell for when they make a run don't you? If I recall, they are just shy of $700.00 a set plus shipping. When they do ship everyone is on pins and needles wondering what condition their headers are going to show up in because of the lack of attention to shipping the headers. Im not saying its not a great product but it took 6 months for 20 or so people to buy the remaining ones from the last run. If you get 100 people to "commit" to purchasing I would probably say actually 20% might would follow thru and purchase. I would post a parts wanted thread and see if you could get some of these headers. I bet for the right price there are people that have purchased these in the past and never used them(future project purchases) Good luck in your venture but I don't see 100 people committing to buying 100 sets. Maybe 20 if I had to guess.

I am in for 2 sets and I understand that people flake out and don't follow through, but I don't and will commit fully....

Because this isn't the GSCA site.

He can post all the polls he wants, it still wont affect the GSCA.

    I don't know, maybe...

What its not is the GSCA.

No hes not, read the poll.

If he asked how many members here would like the GSCA to make a run of headers, fine.

    But that's not the poll.

What this poll is asking is a commitment to buy in a given time frame.

Something a poll on V8Buick would have NO effect on in any way, shape, or form.

    Thus, this poll is meaningless.

BTW, the OP has started several threads about the manufacture of the M/T-SS headers...

I asked if he knew that V8Buick has nothing to do with it because I don't think he dos:Do No:

Otherwise I would have let this poll slide.

To answer your Question,,, I belong to a group of 40/56 local guys from my home town that are looking to buy M/T Headers in the next couple of months,,,make a long story short,,after inquiring on the V8 Board!!! We hit a wall of bad info!! So i talked with a very informative Good Guy over at GSCA!!! That informed me what was needed to make another run for the M/T Headers 100 plus buyers!!! Thats why i have Poll:idea2:

The last couple runs they did required pre payment commitment before they made the run.Not a lot of guys want to pony up big $$$ and wait 6-12 months or more.I do admire your entusiasm however, good luck:TU:

That's for sure, the sound is one in a million. I have a repo set on my 69 400 stage 2 and a set of the 4 bolt flange originals hanging on the wall, they need a tube repaired so I'm looking for a damaged or rusted out set to harvest the tube I need or to use as a model to make one.

    David G de-modded....

There is a point to be made about V8Buick having nothing to do with any car clubs. I suspect you need to be a GSCA member to buy the products they sell. Someone correct me if I am mistaken. I see no problem with a thread here to help gauge interest in the headers. However, it may be more useful to have such a thread on the GSCA site and post a link here, so GSCA members HERE can go over there and make their interest official with the GSCA. Sales aren't going to happen thru this forum. Buyers will need to commit to the GSCA when/if the GSCA publicly states that they are trying to do a run but need commitments.

Wow, Gary, I did not know M/T made a stage 2 header...I would love to see a pic or 2:pray:

I think you're confusing a 400 Stage 2 vs a 455 Stage 2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but before they made Stage 2 heads, there was a Stage 2 package available that still used rectangular exhaust ports (essentially the same heads as stock) instead of the new round ports.

You're correct John,in 69 the stage 2 over the counter package consisted of the same parts as the later stage 2 package sans heads. The stage 2 iron heads were not available in 69

i'm going to need a set of headers for my 65 skylark. i love the idea of the m/t's but 700.00 for a set is a bit steep and i imagine no guaranty if they will fit perfectly.

M/T Super Scavenger Headers play a very large roll in the Buick GS History,,,I get it I understand the M/T Headers are not cost effective I get it!!! Nor is a B4B Cast Iron Manifold Nor a pair of stock Stage 1 Heads Nor a B25 Rear Bumper!!! which All play a very big roll in Buick GS History!! GSCA does not make one Penny of the sale Nor Make of the M/T Super Scavenger Headers!! unlike other clubs and members that buy and mark up price 34% on resale,,, GSCA does this to try and Preserve the History of M/T Super Scavenger Headers!!! Not to turn a Profit!!! My2Cent I know of no other Headers that will last over 25 plus years other than M/T Headers!! Trust me!! I have wasted a ton of money trying different Headers that did not last more then 4 years on a Daily Driver!!! The Good thing about the run for the M/T Headers!! You pay them a deposit and you have a couple of months to come up with Balances!! I know of no other club or members that offer this!! this is a win win for anybody that wants to buy the M/T Super Scavenger Headers that don't have all the cash up front

For your own sake, be really careful with statements like that, based on something someone told you. Unless I saw the invoice from the vendor, I wouldn't stick my neck out like you are.

For the record, I have no concern about you hawking GSCA parts on the site. Just hate to see you get ripped to shreds, if someone who knows better comes along.

I personally have no idea, and even less concern about the GSCA or anyone else making money... that's their business, not ours.
