my reply was not specifically aimed at you however, Your body’s innate ability to deal with the antigen is far superior to anything else. Hope you do well!

There was just a study of almost 480,000 health care workers in South Africa from February to July (when they transitioned from the Beta variant to the Delta variant being the most dominant in the region). You can see that here.

Case study confirmed by actual patient. Actual name changed to protect the innocent. Just for reference, we will call this patient docgsx:

Random test performed, PCR test, November 2020, results = negative for COVID-19

February 2021, patient develops symptoms including fever, bodyaches, headaches, loss of appetite, loss of energy, loss of sense of taste and smell. PCR test WITH SYMPTOMS, results = negative for Covid

Treatment: patient stays home for two weeks, rests and relaxes and uses chicken soup for therapy. Apparently, this patient’s immune system was strong enough to withstand the deadly COVID-19 virus with the help of chicken soup therapy, rest and relaxation.

April 2021 patient presents for bloodwork including antibody test for Covid. Results = antibodies present.

(Positive outcome, patient survived and went on to race at the 2021 GS nationals and win the GSR class.)

I know of another case similar except the patient had Covid before it was a thing January 2020. That person also raced again, just not in GSR:D

I'm not sure if the number would be considered disturbingly high, unless you feel any breakthrough is unacceptable. This Vox article has information from the Kaiser Family Foundation from across the country. The numbers in the graph were made into pie charts which, as a visual person, seem to hit home a little more for me. But they seem to be much different than 80/20 based on Kaiser's data. The one thing that we do know is that, for vaccinated people, the number will be higher for people actually getting Covid. The point being, that there are more asymptomatic occurences in the vaccinated and they won't get tested unless they either feel symptomatic or are required to for work, travel, etc... Please refer to case study above, full on Covid symptoms produces negative PCR test.

I also raced at 2021 GS nationals and I went racing last night, so I am good, at least until the next variant. So, drag racing will prevent or kill COVID. Maybe...

If you die drag racing that should prevent Covid19. Not in all cases but most

Depends on what hospital you’re taken to. They were getting money to help with Covid, so…everybody ‘got’ Covid!

The wife and I dealt with it last month. For me it was just how it's been described here, cold symptoms with a low temp that seemed to show up in the evenings, and loss of taste and smell. I haven't had any shots, and I did fine, but I'm also 23 with perfect health except for a few too many rolls from texas roadhouse. I'm not the guy to give medical advice, hope you get rid of it soon.

I sent my co-workers home for about a year due to covid concerns. I worked from the office alone -- nice and safe.

I had them come back to the office two or three months back when things looked good.

I sent them home again 2 weeks ago. It was nice while it lasted.

Now one of them has a hubby with Delta, but fortunately he was vaxxed. Another behaves incautiously given personal situations, one has a significant other who does the same.

I am again in no hurry to invite anyone back...

Your symptoms are similar to what I dealt with in April 2020 long before vaccinations were available, or COVID became a widespread concern. Stayed home for 7 or 8 days and fully recovered. I hadn't had a cold for about 2 years prior to that, nor one since then. Was practicing proper hand hygiene long before it became de rigueur. I also avoid people as much as possible anyway. :D I can only tolerate unimportant chatter for a brief time. :p

I'm a strong believer in the power of the human immune system's ability to ward off many afflictions, or at least diminish their impact.

I worked in queens during the height of the epidemic. I worked in Flushing which is mostly Asian. No mask, picked ny nose, wiped my eyes.....negative for covid. Haven't worn a mask in months. Still negative. Im not vaccinated. I don't know, maybe I'm just immune? Lucky? Then again, I haven't gotten the flu in 10 or 12 years and I don't get vaccinated for that either.

Except for being in New York, same here.

I am considering getting vaccinated now though. Just in case I have to do something outside of the State of Florida and it's required.

I hope and pray y'all that have it get well quickly!

Well Steve, I almost feel foolish saying this but, as you know, until everybody gets this, there will be no herd immunity…

Or, a possible quicker and safer option that does not involve avoidable deaths would be everyone getting the shot...
