There is only room in my life for a woman who is secure enough to let me go off on a half-dozen or so "Buick Trips" every year without hassling me for it. I have yet to meet that woman, and I doubt if she exists. I don't really want a woman who needs to share everything with me. I want someone who has "her stuff', leaves me to "my stuff", and we can can share some stuff we call "our stuff". I just wanna do what I wanna do, when I wanna do it! What kind of woman will go along with that? :Do No:

That sounds like my wife, although I haven't taken it out quite as far as you require.

She just called... "How's the Tequila situation, I just picked up some tortillas and I'm over by the liquor store?"

Well ya'll had some points and comical ones @ that:laugh:

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really want a Buick girl but yes I realize it's more of a fantasy than a reality.

Last year I met a girl I would have married before the Nationals.
She wasn't a car girl @ all, beside that she was everything I ever wanted in a woman. Longstory short, her dad didn't approve of our age difference me 31/her 22 (BIG FREAKIN DEAL:af:  ) and she let him run her life, then we lost contact. Now she's getting married to her ex boyfriend:ball: but what can ya do....

The last thing I can be thinking about these days is a woman but I can't help having a desire for someone to spend time with.

Yep, 24 and single. Right now between the two jobs I have, I barely have time for myself let alone a relationship, but it sure would be nice.

Guys, I thought I had a match made in heaven, alot of you know this story, but here's the clue, that I got from a preacher/lawyer, etc, at the BCA Nats in '97 in St Louis, his pre-nupt preach is "If you can put up with their s**t and they can put up with your s**t" then you will probably going to make it in a lifetime committment, nothing much different than what alot of you have already stated. It's all about communication and commitment to making the relationship work, not much different from working for the same company your whole working life! Yours, mine and ours, which is most important, Geez I've read too many books! RV

Yes,I'm single too, and what woman wants to be with someone who has constantly worked on cars almost his whole life?(like me).I agree,I'd love to be with a woman, and have often been envious of some of the guys I've seen with their pretty girlfriends. What gets me is that some of these guys treat their girlfriends like dirt, but the girl is always there for him.Doesn't make too much sense to me. What gives?:Do No:

The way I look at it,I'll keep going and enjoy what I like to do-if that special woman comes my way,so be it.

I am in my mid fortys and have been single my entire life, I have no children and I am not promiscuous. As mentioned before I value my independence but being single involves more than my sovereignty. I will not commit to someone who does not have the desire or ability to communicate. A willingness to confront problems head on and then move on is also a desired trait. Templates exist for marriage and this is how I judge the potential. I am not in some fantasyland I make critical mistakes. I am willing to pay the price if the right person comes along. But unlike Meatloaf two out of three is bad.

    1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

    Proverbs 4:7

7 Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

P.S. I consulted my Physic and checked my horrorscope before posting this.

"In closing....what was said above is true - at the least expected place and time is where you'll prolly meet someone special. Prolly not out at a club or bar where you're trolling for a bite."

    THAT'S where I was headed.

I NEVER go to clubs or bars. It's just not my scene.

I don't meet anyone thru Real Estate cause they are ALL married or have boyfriends, I don't meet any @ the track cause they are all "with" someone, where else do ya go?

I met Christian of all places (the girl I refered to earlier from last year) @ traffic school.:bglasses:

I often thought about getting a puppy and heading to spots with high lady traffic. A great ice breaker in my opinion.

Motorcycles and boats seem to increase one's odds as well:beer

Dude, just go turn a wrench. My wife ragged at me for the first 3 years I owned the Riv, now she ignores and accepts that I devote my free time to it (free as in: when I'm not with the kids, or attending dance recitals or ballgames, or working on clients's computers at night, or rebuilding wiring harnesses, or working around the house).

    It is your hobby, man.

    I am 32 years old.

Got married at 18, got divorced at 19, and got a wonderful 14 year-old daughter out of the deal .

I have had a few girlfriends over the years, but my last one was some time ago. She was jealous of my daughter!:af: (Who was pre-school age at the time)...What a fruitcake!! Since then, I have steered clear of women for the most part.

Besides, my daughter keeps me plenty busy. But she is old enough now to kinda worry about me. She is worried about what I will do when she graduates high-school and moves out on her own. She is anxious for me to find someone.

Me...I'm in no hurry. If someone compatable comes along, then great. Otherwise, I'll just keep living my life.

I am 31, single, never been married. Here is a picture of my garage out in my back yard. It has 4 Buicks in it, one of which is disassembled undergoing a frame-off restoration, the other 3 of which are fully restored. I want to be married and have a family like most of you guys, but so far this garage and its contents don't seem to be compatible with that.

I have a great wife! She enjoys the fact that I do something that doesn't get me in trouble, that I enjoy. She doesn't get it understand it, or appreciate it, but she knows its important to me, so she never complains.

Found her on the Internet. Dont knock it till youve tried it. Some really nice people out there in the same boat as you.

Be yourslef, the rest will work out. Just dont fart in front of her till the 2nd date. :Dou:
