I think that '65 is a Gran Sport; there's something on the roof pillar right above the quarter that looks like the Gran Sport badge. That would allow it to have a vinyl or painted non halo roof, right?

The 65 looks like it has chrome trim all the way front to back just under the door handle which would make it a Skylark.very hard to tell from the shadows in the picture.I can't make out a hood emblem either. Tom

I think you're right. The lighting makes it difficult to make out but it looked like the side moldings went all the way down the side. My Skylark has an emblem on the sail panel as well, and not being able to see this one very clearly in the photo, it could be either. But I just looked at it with a magnifying glass and there is a grille emblem on it, which a Skylark does not have. I guess The whitewalls and wheel covers threw me off. I thought rally wheels were part of the Gran Sport package. Talk about a sleeper :)

You are quite welcome. I thought it was a Skylark until you said something. It most certainly looks like it has the "gran sport" over the vinyl top to me. GS sandwiched in one of these shots!

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. Certainly brings back a lot of memories. Back then the makes and styles were distinctive. You could see a car out of the corner of you eye and instantly you knew what it was. Today, all cars look substantially the same and very few have a distinct sound. You could "hear" the type of car as well as see it. They all sounded different under acceleration and most makes had a unique start-up sound. Ahh...the sound of factory solid lifters right from the dealer's lot. Today people would think there is something wrong with the engine. As we look back today and wish we were there, they were just everyday cars and most were nothing special at the time. They were pretty much worn out at 80-100k miles and not worth anything. I remember selling a 67 Vette 435 coupe for 2200.00, 66 Hemi Belvedere 4 speed for 1100.00, 70 Boss 302 for 1400.00 and so on (all in perfect shape). I bought my 70 Stage 1 convertible in excellent condition for 500.00 and my 67 427-435 Vette roadster for 3000.00, both of which I still have. Gas was cheap by today's standards but not back then. My buddy complained that Sunoco 260 went from .33/gal to .37/gal and wanted to get rid of his 67 GTO he bought new because of the increase. Life seemed simple only because we didn't have the damm internet (thank god). We had other problems on our minds like assassinations of politicians and civic leaders, Vietnam, college demonstrations, racism and other major issues. The younger generation didn't miss anything other than a cool and brief period of the muscle car era. But...looking back, the cars were fun and I love all the muscle and sports cars of the day. If everybody kept them they wouldn't be worth anything today. Enjoy looking at the pictures and dreaming. Lets keep the hobby going before someone decides we shouldn't have our old cars.

The gal in the '57 wagon is cute. Looks like pic was taken in military base housing.

Those movie theater signs in the third photo scream mid to late 70's New York Times Square area.

I'm 98% positive that's a 65 Gran Sport in the 4th photo. I can barely make out the grill emblem, but it's there. It's possible that what looks like Skylark side trim could be shadows. The 65 GS could be had with wheel covers instead of road wheels.

Great stuff Brian, the red 67 Wildcat in post #72 with the "just married" sign, is a BCA member local to me. It has a Reason Buick license plate frame and that's where he bought it when he got married in 67. That car still looks like it did in the photo, its one of the nicest, cleanest Wildcats I have ever seen, it could have rolled off the showroom floor last week......

That '60, with the chrome skirts, is cool. Haven't seen one like that in years.

Sometimes history isn't history LOL. Small Buick world, no doubt!

When the picture was taken or now? Looks like a GS is in the background too!

Fourth pic looks a lot like a rail overpass on Dort Road heading north toward Clio out of Flint MI.
