That little boat would have slipped right into the back of the wagon.

Yea isn't that the truth! I studied that picture for awhile. Little things like the mother had the teen daughters arm. The epitome of the American family at the time. They are probably just leaving or coming back from church. That's when a lot of pictures were taken back then because the family was all dressed up. We don't do that much either these days.

    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

There probably are people that take that pic in front of their Prius, but I'm pretty sure we don't know any of them......

Here's how the picture looks today.

The Prius is parked in the queue for a second Takata airbag.

Dad is suspected to have left to go back to Mexico. He was last seen two states away after leaving his third wife. He is behind on alimony and child support for his first two families. There are numerous warrants outstanding for some of his more seedy activities.

Mom has a heroin addiction and is in rehab. Needless to say, she's out of the picture as well.

The oldest daughter is in the Prius shot. She got her live in boyfriend (on government assistance) to take the picture as she fakes a fall in the service department so she can sue the dealership. Why not? The last four settlements are still paying.

Baby sis couldn't make the photo op either. She's behind the McDonalds counter taking orders after dropping out of high school. She just got a new tattoo and nose ring with her first check. Sis has trouble walking ever since Clyde the Pittbull got out of the trailer next door.

The people have changed more than the cars.

My dad had one of those purple `59 Buicks, although it was a 4 door and didn't have a white top. I would have been 5 years old at the time but I still remember it. We called it, of course, the purple people eater. The following year he traded it in for a dark blue `60. Back then it was exciting to get a new car. Nowadays it seems like more of something that is necessary rather than exciting. I almost hate having to buy the next car because I have no desire to own any new car specifically. Seeing all these old pictures has been a great trip down memory lane for many of us and Brian, I can't thank you enough for it :TU:
