Thanks for sharing these pictures, guys. I like the '68/73 Rivilark. How many engines are in that wagon? Wow, $.29 leaded premium at 7-11. Gone are the days.
That's Tommy Ivo's four engine four wheel drive Buick Wagonmaster Note, the full floating axles https://youtu.be/8Rn5a0PgkEw https://youtu.be/az6TDNCVD0M
Edit; Correction (thanks to BuickFunnyCar) Bruce Dyda with his recreation of Tommy Ivo's machine. Tommy Ivo
Hey Brian... where did the American Graffiti pic come from. Was it a pilot promo? I never saw Toad or Debbie or that sled(at all!) together in the movie. Still one of the great all time flix! ws
Got it at the surf shop LOL. I wondered about that myself. That Buick is in the movie though, isn't it? Ive seen that flick probably over 100 times and never seen that car in there... not even in the background. The white 60 Impala bubble top appears in several scenes. Probably "Too Radical" for the period of the flick. Almost none of the vehicles sported custom metallic paint jobs. Even Milners' deuce was a cross between piss yellow and puke green, but at least it wasn't a field car LOL... Toad and Debbie are dressed in costume tho so it mustve been pretty close. That pink bowling shirt still creeps me out LOL... ws
Sure...how about some more? I love that picture but maybe not for the same reasons. These riv pullin rail pictures look newer to me.
Love those old pics, could look at them all day long. Nice snapshots of what life was like back then...:TU:
There certainly is something to seeing them back in the day. The red "Egyptian" is one of the most unique customs I've ever seen.
Funny you should run that Kennedy shot with the 2 1960 Buicks; - I'm lying in my sick bed reading a book on Nixon, Watergate, the CIA and Cuban thing; - fascinating book; if you guys think we've got crooks running the show now, these modern politicos are panty-waists compared to the likes of "tricky Dick" and JFK...absolutely amazing stuff.
