Ok everybody, here's the deal. I will offer a free porting job on the first set of edelbrock heads that is sent to me . This will be for a set of heads sent in for porting only for for anyone who wnats an engine built with edelbrock heads, first person only will be free.
I have worked with the edelbrock heads for other engines, they are not bad, but I have always gotten some fairly good gains with some porting. I'm not talking about doing a full race port deal here, it will be something similar to what we do on the TA heads and the Bulldog heads. I expect it should not be a problem to get them over 300 on the intake and into the 200 plus range on the exhaust.
This will help give the community an idea of how good, or bad these heads are. I suspect they will be decent heads.
This will be some free horsepower for somebody out there.
The offer is good for how ever long it takes to get a set of these in.

Jim, had the budget been in better shape I'd be there. Very generous offer on your part, you won't have to wait long for someone to step up...I'll bet it will be a race based on delivery times from Edelbrock + delivery time to you.

Hey, do you need anyone to work in your shipping/receiving dept.? :Brow:

Jim, not trying to pile onto your already generous offer, but have you considered a back to back dyno comparison with these heads on one of your engines?

Results from out-of-the box then post-port work with no other changes would be priceless.

Devon, I would consider doing that. The only way I can pull it off though is to do it on an engine build for someone. Jim Burek

Hector, as I said, it is an open offer. First one is the one who gets the service. I figure this will be a good way to find out if these heads are good or not. Don't get me wrong, I believe they will be fine, but I'm sure at this point that the entire Buick community wants to know how good they are , or are not. Jim Burek

To my knowledge, Edelbrock doesn't make aluminum heads for the 350 Buick :Do No:

I saw a few places that are offering the Edelbrock Aluminum heads for the BBB at $701 per head, that's a bare head. Price is getting better, now that's only 1400 bucks for a set and the shipping is free....Now 160 bucks for stainless valves, and then a good set of springs, some clean up with a set of chevy roller rockers and a guy has a nice set of heads for well under 2k. And with Jim doing a mo'better job of port work, a guy can have it all me thinks.

I am anxiously awaiting the turnout of this ....If I can get a set of Ebrocks and use Chevy roller rockers and get myself into the low 11's high 10's,then I will be thrilled...Let er rip Jim....I am more into being a cheapass than brand loyalist..Not to rip on TA (I've bought several things from them and use several of their products)but shipping costs from AZ to Pa have to be more than from Ohio to Pa..

    Update?

Don't neglect to give us an update on the status of this project. Let us know when you hear about the heads being shipped. Then perhaps Jim can add some notes about his "first impressions" as he takes the heads out of the box. I think there will be considerable interest in this new product. Thanks.

I'd just like to add that this couldn't happen to a better guy! Hector helped me out when I really needed it even though he didn't know me.

What are some of the prices guys are paying at the various outlets for these heads? Any ideas? Thanks.
