Just want to know everyones opinion... I'm going to post some pics

IMO this car looks beautiful, If it was mine I would leave it as it is.

CLEAR RIMS? I think those are pretty cool. Although I wouldn't personally put rims this big on a car, but at least the car is still on the road and not rotting away in a junkyard somewhere.

I think this car looks great with big wheels on it. They aren't way out of proportion on this car, Big 4 door car with big wheels, and this is what I want my Buick to look like when its done.

Beautiful car, but I admit I don't like the wheels on this particular car. I do like how the dust covers match the roof of the car though.

76 Regal? I like the color and the wheels look very good on this car. I think it sits good and looks very classy on this 4 door Buick. I really like this one a lot.

For me big rims can look good but it depends on what kind of car they are on, and how high the car is sitting. I wouldn't put them on just any car, but I think they would look good on my 4 door Buick. It's not a race car it only has a 307 in it, and I don't want it to look stock and most people don't pay any attention to an 84 Buick LeSabre. I want to paint the car black to really make all the chrome trim stand out, and put some 22 inch chrome wheels on it. I'm not going to raise the car up high or anything, I just want a classy looking Buick. I'll keep the interior original and get some flowmaster pipes so it will sound good and then be done with it. What is your guys opinion on doing this to my car?

"Bigger" rims can look good, but over-done just looks ridiculous, imho.

17" or 18" is about my limit. Anything bigger looks like the pictures you posted! :ball:

Personally I like cars with 14's, 15's, Lowriders with 13's. My friends Chevelle SS is lowered on 20's and it looks good. My cousin has a 68 Impala on 24's tucked, not raised up and it looks real good and its super fast. I have nothing against little wheels or big wheels, but I do feel that certain wheels look better on certain cars. I think my car would look stupid with 15 inch Cragars on it, but they would look great on a 70 Buick GS. I think 22's would look dumb on a 70 GS but would look good on my LeSabre. I don't like cars raised up real high no matter what size the rims are. It looks goofy, especially when they raise a car 3 feet in the air and put 20's on it. Looks rediculous.

I think the full-size cars with tiny little rims look just as bad as over-done big rims.

No, it's not stupid. It's redonkulous..

Anything that hurts the performance, reliability, and/or safety of a car is not cool no matter how much chrome you plaster across it.

You need to find a different website to ask these questions.

The biggest problem I find when people put the 17-18" rims on just about any musclecar is they end up putting tires that are noticably shorter than the factory had on them so they can lower them. Most mid size Buicks came with 26"+ tall tires(big cars even taller) and they have tires shorter than 26" so too much rim and not enough tire. I think the best bet is get the right height tire on the bigger rims and lower the car to match the tire.

It's your car do what you want to it.I think 17 or maybe 18 is the limit for me but your car is a four door.Like you said 15's on your car will just be avarage.Huge rims and lifting the car just isn't for me.Black and chrome is a great look to me aswell.

I like cars where the rims are somewhere near the stock size.
Not only do I think that it looks better that way, but your handling will be better and your brakes will work.
Remember, there really isn't any circumstance where a high center of gravity doesn't make a car less stable.
Those big wheels up the rotating mass for the brakes to work against also. Unless of course you take advantage of all that room and put some 20" brakes in there.

If it's your car do what you want. However, really think about the safety safety issues as there are several with braking being #1. You'll loose turn radias, maybe break a few axels, and likely burn out your transmission.

Me personally, I'm not a fan of anything bigger than 17".

Anything bigger than a 17 or MAYBE an 18 on most any musclecar is just wrong in my opinion. At some point you end up with a wheel that is just not strong enough for daily driving and/or a tire with out enough sidewall to absorb some of the stresses of daily driving. Killing a $1000+ wheel because of a missing chunk of asphalt seems like you are putting the car into the world of trailer queen to me.

Does it look good??? not to my eyes, no it does not.... The first pic with the little blue Skylark is ok by me but not my cup of tea.

A trend I'm seeing at a lot of shows and cruise in's this year is the polar opposite. Lots and lots of cars with for example 15in wheels and a 275-75-15 or taller tire. HOLY SMOKES!!! I bet I've seen 20 cars like that this year!!! Maybe these are all guys that put the 4.56 gear in the back and are trying to compensate. OR maybe it's the guys that put the wrong springs in their cars and are just trying to fill in the open space.. I don't know but I think it's crazy!

    regards

I just pulled 20"s with 255 40 tires off of my 70 Skylark...looked great (especially from the rear) but it felt like it was all over the road and braking sucked. So I replaced them with 15" and 14" buick rally wheels with 255 60 15s in rear and 225 70 14s in front. Doesn't look bad, pretty good actually...but rides a whole heck of a lot better.

In my opinion anything larger than 20" don't look good on the A-Body cars...Big body cars 22" but no more...as long as it still rides at the same height it looks good to me. At the same time I can't stand the whole madd maxx, joe dirt, jacked up in the rear red neck look...you know with the huge CB antenna on the trunk and the Yosemite Sam "Back Off" mud flaps...just horrible.

As previously stated...it's your car...who cares what anyone else thinks.

I think that whatever the largest stock rim was for that year car is as big as you should go. Tires can be as big as you can get into the wheel well. It's your car so do what you want but if I saw it on the road with the wheels in the picture I wouldn't take the car seriously. I think cars look like Matchbox toys when the rims get too big.
