I do some photography on the side, I'll have my digital camera and my regular film camera with me, along with a few rolls of film...
I was talking to John Schmidt yesterday and we are planning to race at Englishtown the day after the Holmdel get together. Anybody who's interested in joining us is welcome to do so. See you all in Holmdel! Doug.
Let me know what else we need here and it's covered Too bad my GS will not be able to make it. I'll cruise with my brother in his convertible. My engine won't be done before the picnic, but I just found out that I'm able to get custom made pistons from Wiseco for my 350  I should have it by the trip to Flint, MI. Rob
bpg gathering hi, guys I'm new at this so bear with me. I did finally fiture out how get on this board. As far as the picnic I will be coming with my family. I was talking with jeff "yardley" about it and my problem that I'M having with my motor. So I hope you guy won't get upset with me because I have alot of question. ON what to bring for the picnic my wife make a good macaroni salad. Also what are the times????
Marco, My wife Mary and I will be bringing chips and pretzels and a nice size cooler with room for keeping stuff cold. I would love to go to Englishtown the next day with Doug and John, but I just don't have room in the car for everything plus my slicks. Too Bad,I haven't been to the track with it in almost 5 years and would love the chance to play.It does get its time on the STREETS around here a few times a year though!:TU: I'm gettin anxious:laugh:  See you all in 2 and a half weeks:bglasses:
Hey Doug, I hear ya. Nothin I would like better then to have both my cars at Englishtown. I've done a lot to the Stage 1 car over the winter and I'm chasin the 11.50's!!! Too bad Mary is to afraid to drive my Skylark and actually I don't like the idea either. She's great for everything else, not to confident in traffic, especially when she knows she has to follow me on the belt prkwy, verizano bridge, across Staten Island and then the Trnpke!! Oh well, I'll think of something:TU:
Kenny..... I plan on having Kathy deive my RoadMaster wagon out following me Its quite possible that a pair of slicks could get strapped to the roof !! Mocha (90 lb lab) will be in the back - I'll have to ask her if she's willing to ride with slicks taking up "her" room Doug - whats the program for Sunday ?? typical 2 time runs and brackets at 1pm ?? Hmmmmm........I haven't got thrown out since last year:Brow:
Alan....its possible that they forgot about you going that fast without that roll bar in  ....but I doubt it  . The park opens at 9 (I believe) and I plan on getting there at 9 to 10 AM, just to make sure things go well before anybody shows up.....the party can last as long as you would like to, but remember that the car show starts at 6 and ends at 9 (for those who want to go of course, I know I do  ). If anybody wants to show up at 9 to 10 with me please do so, I'm sure we will need to set some things up prior to starting the party. Hopefully the weather holds out :TU: . Larry
Sounds great Mike. Yes, we should have two large grills which are a part of the park rental :TU: Hopefully anyone bringing burgers and hot dogs also brings buns.
It looks to be a fairly easy path to follow from I-195 to the park but then I'm from around here and know my way around. Would one of the early folks with two people in the car be willing to post a B.P.G. Picnic in COLOR on some of the telephone poles along the way? Would be a comfort to the "I'm not from here folks"o No:
I am thinking on coming but its a little drive to there, about 3-4 hours.A few questions,do you have to be a BPG member? What is the best way to get there from I-80? 80 to 206 then 287 then 18 or is there a better way? I would really like to be there. What time is it starting and ending? I'll be bringing the step son with. What can I bring? Pat
There is no membership required to join in on the fun :TU: ...just as long as your a Buick guy, and have a Buick . Easiest way is to go is 287 to GSP exit 123 (Rt. 9) then continue on the left hand side until you see the exit for Rt 34 (Matawan)....follow Rt. 34 (about 20 to 25 minuite's) until you see the signs for Holmdel park, and your there....there is a map in this post, I believe page 2 or 3 that I have posted to be downloaded. It shows directions from Rt. 34 or more direct route by way of the GSP, also try mapquest...that will help lots of people out. HTHYO! :TU: Larry
Doug - No worries! There are signs all over the area that state 'Holmdel Park'. Here's my directions from the GSP southbound - Take exit 114 (Holmdel-Middletown Rd). You pay the toll and come to a 'T'. Make a right. Take Holmdel-Middletown Rd to the first light (Crawford's Corner-Everette Rd). Make right. Take Crawford's Corner-Everette Rd to the 2nd left on to Roberts Rd. It is about 1 mile down, and the first street after you pass the HUGE campus of Lucent. Take Roberts Rd to the 2nd right onto Longstreet Rd. The entrance to Holmdel park is on Longstreet Rd about 200 feet on the left. And again, even off the GSP, there are signs to Holmdel park with arrows all over the place.
Alan, Marco, (and everyone else) What time would you like to meet up at the park...I plan on being there at 9:30 to 10 AM. Let's come up with a time so we can all get there and make sure things are setup...my schedule is VERY flexible so it dosen't matter to me either way :TU: . Larry P.S. We have only 2 more weeks to go :TU:
I just realized that I will probably end up having to stay down there that night... luckily I have friends in Princeton ... and if that doesn't fly, I don't mind sleeping in my car!
:ball: Well it's been another gray rainy mid 50's Saturday :af: but look on the bright side the odds are with us to have at least one nice weekend after this long string of one's that :moonu: Lets see wet spring, woods, next to pond it's going to get hot food on the table. Perhaps we should bring some bug spray of some sort to coat ourselves with? :blast:
