...on June 7th at Holmdel Park. Here is the original discussion thread. Any and all Buick enthusiasts welcome. We have a tent rented from dawn till dusk, which includes some BBQ grills (I am unsure of how many, but I'll check). All eats are 'dutch', which means everyone brings a little somethin' somethin' for everybody. The test rental was $180, which I already fronted the cash to reserve the spot/date. We'll just divide the total number of people (families) in attendance. Some things I know we'll need... charcoal (OLDS442GM) meat (OLDS442GM - burgers/sausage, DugsSin - burgers, JerryF, Paul455 - hotdogs, Lee/Sylvia Engleman - burgers) snacks (GSGN, RED GS 1, Lee/Sylvia Engleman) plates (Jake G'S 350, Paul455) drinks (OLDS442GM, IDOXLR8, 71GSX455-4SPD, chiefaponte) cups (Jake G'S 350, Paul455) utensils (skyphix) napkins (Paul455) Paper towels Tablecloths - 12lives Foil - Jake G'S 350 condiments (73Electra 225 - guacomole, bigbruiser - macaroni salad, PWM72 - Ketchup, Mustard, Pickles, relish, mayo, 12lives - butter) desserts (Yardley, Beamer) So...who is coming? How many people are you coming with? Where you coming from (other people may contact you for a caravan or if they need a ride)? What are you bringing? I'm trying to get a head count for the amount of picnic tables we'll need. The public park contains nature walks and kiddie playgrounds, so it's family oriented. The closest house address everyone can map to is... 2 Linden Ct Holmdel, NJ 07733 Hope to see you there, and please reply to this post. Thanks! Here's the current attendee list. If I miss anyone, please post/email me. Thanks! PS - It's a good idea if everyone could bring a bag of ice. Marco - One person coming from Essex County NJ. This event is open to ALL auto entusiasts! BUT! They must remember that this is a Buick event, and we do not wish to have any confrontations. They can think and believe their (insert brand name here) is better. But we don't want to hear a lot of trash talk. We are mature and expect all people AND GUESTS to behave themselves. As long as they enjoy cars and act like civilized humans they are most welcome to attend and learn why our Buicks are so special. They might even become bitten by the Buick bug. Oh, it'll be me and one or 2 or 3 brothers. And what can I bring? How's some cookies and other baked deserts sound?
Hey, Jeff - you ain't talking about those "special" brownies are you? You know.....the ones that give you the munchies for even MORE brownies????!:eek2:
Pretty sure I'll be there. Probably just myself. I plan on bringing a whole lot of my famous guacomole!
I'd love to make it but that'd be quite a bit of driving unless I slept (in my car since I'm poor) down there. Put me down as a maybe?
Eric, its not that far. Heck, for the first gathering at Duane's, I drove from western mass. to outside Philly, attended the party, then drove from there to Pittsburgh to visit a friend. It was tiring, I'll say that.
From White Plaines to down here or vice versa...is about 1 hour 15 min to 1 hour 30 min. Not that bad of a drive either, just hit the Garden State Parkway and ride it all the way down to Holmdel/Keyport exit =-) I picked this place 'cause it was in the middle for everyone, and has enough activities and room for us all to enjoy the day! I'm sure everyone will have a good time :TU: Larry
Does anyone want me to send some coin for the site rental? How are you planning on collecting it? I'm more than happy to give $20 - $30 up front. Let me know if you need more even.
Jeff - You guys can reimburse me on June 7. We'll divide the $180 by the amount of people (or families) that show up. I'm guessing, from all the interest this is generating, it shouldn't be more than a couple bucks each :beer
Hi Alan - I just called them. Dogs are allowed in the park, but they must be on a leash at all times. If anyone needs any additional information, the Monmouth County Parks Dept phone # is (732) 842-4000.
Well I'm sure that I will be there but not sure if one or two kids might come with me???? So count me as a 2 plus or minus 1ou: Marco I'll go to Sam's and get a package of burgers and equal amount of rolls. Next trip I'll see what size packages they have. Hey Skyphix your young and it's the Summer, try to hook up with someone else coming in makes getting there a blast. I still remember last year cruising down I-95 with 16? Buicks in a row and the looks on people's faces. Where did that video get to of us coming off the Interstate?:eek2:
