You're right, it isn't that far, only about 4 hours each way. I used to drive to Burlington and back every sunday, which is about 3.5 hours from here. We'll see... I am going to try to make it.

Maybe I can find someone else from up this way or catch someone on the way down? Like I said, we'll see... I am going to try though

I'll be there with a friend of mine and some type of meat and whatever else I can think of. If we need utencils and such I can bring along "the box" we use for tailgating at Giants games and it has almost everything we'd need. Hope it fits in my car.

What are we doing for a grill? Has anyone offered to bring a bag of charcoal?

    Hi Jeff -

The tent rental (which can hold up to 125 people under it) comes with 2 grills, each of which (according to the Monmouth county parks dept) can cook about 50 burgers or pieces of chicken.

Larry has already agreed to bring the charcoal.

I have been editting the first post with who is coming, how many people they are bringing, and what they are bringing. If I am missing anyone, or something listed is invalid, please let me know.

    Thanks!

I'll bring whatever.....Plates, utensils, condommints :Dou:

I think EVERYONE should bring at LEAST one bag of Ice and a 6-pack of your Fav. beverage

We could definately use a few BIG coolers for the Soda's and the perishables.

    Marco,

I am still planning to attend with at least 2 of my three boys. You can put me down for a half dozen WAREHOUSE CLUB SIZE bags of nachos, chips for dips and so on and a case of drinks. If you prefer something different, just let me know.

I'll bring aluminum foil to cover the grates. They tend to be rusty and really funky, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who won't want to eat off them.

Also, I'll bring name tags and a sharpie so we can know who is who.

The only thing I can think of BBQ wise is cooking utensils for BBQ'n. I will supply (2) 48lb bags of charcoal :eek2: and (2) large bottles of started fluid. I hope that this should be enough to last us for the whole day :TU: . I am also bringing a package burgers, sausage patties, a case of soda (sprite), and rolls....(too bad we really cant make peppers and onions for the sausage). Great idea about the aluminum foil for the grates...god only knows how many burgers were cooked on them, but then again thats where the flavor comes from  . Believe me I'm really excited about this event....hopefully I have enough time to get my new Skylark on the road...and my foot back in a sneaker too  . If there is anything else I can bring or do to help out, please write me here, call me, or shoot me an email  . I guess me being the charcoal guy designates me as the official BPG cooker too ...I don't mind cooking, I'm quite good at it too :TU:.

Let me know what I can bring down? If there isn't anything then I can chip in moneywise in order to offset the cost of the supplies. I'm going to try and bring my GS 350 4-speed down but it all depends when Mr. Jim Burek will be finished with my new engine:grin: Hmmmmm........those sweet sounds of a 400+ horsepower 350 :) There isn't no rush with the engine so, if I don't have it by then I'll ride down with my brother.

    GOOD NEWS....GOOD NEWS!!!!

I was just informed over the weekend that a car show will be held on Saturday June 7th at the Perkins diner in colts neck. This car show is HUGE!!! with plenty of trophys to go around and will be able to hold us Buick guys with no problems at all. The day of the party we will take a head count on who wants to cruise on over to show off our Buick metal (I would gladly lead the group with my new skylark as well :TU: ). The car show is only about 5 min. away from the park, and would be an awsome end to our picnic. Plus I'm sure we would :eek2: them with the ammount of Buicks that will attend. Let me know what you guys think, and we will all go together as a group and have some Jersey cruise'n fun (be sure to bring your cameras for this one!!):TU: .

    Re: car show

Already got you guys in -

Paul455 (Lynn & Paul Gawel) - 2 people coming from Harrisburg, Pa and bringing plates, napkins, cups, and some hotdogs/buns

I'm keeping a 'running total' in the first post.

    Larry -

Is that a cruise night (just show up) or a car show (registration required)?

If Paul and Lynn bring their '70, they are sure to win something at the show. This is the same one that was on display at the 1st GM Nationals at Carlisle, right?

I have been going to this clubs show for about 4 years now, and they are CRAZY for Buicks :Brow: . Mine is in no great shape, but every time I bring it there, I always come home with a trophy. The strange thing is that I never got one for my Trans Am :( , I guess its too radical for them  . This club loves stock looking cars and especially Buicks....It would be great to end the picnic with the car show and bring home a trophy. 1 of my friends who is going is a member there, and I'm sure he will be pulling for us :TU: . Keep the food lists pouring in, and I'm sure we will make this a day to remember :bglasses: .

Does anybody know if Jim Weise is flying out for this one?? Would be totally cool to see him come out to the east coast!!

My best friend and board member JT (board name: JTFORMULA) said that he will talk with the pres of that car club we are planning on going to, and said that he will sponsor trophys for us buick guys for the top 3! I told him expect us to fill out your car show with lots of Buick metal, cause were all going to go! Sounds like a good deal to me! :TU:
