Just received this picture by mail,it's part of the magazine shoot I posted earlier done in late 1967-early 1968 but this one shows the best detail of the motor so far:

    Update:

Talked to the transport driver,he is picking up the car tomorrow morning at the museum in MI and hopefully if the weather cooperates,I should see it either next Sun or Mon at the latest.

Sure hope things go smoothly because I'm heading out of town Monday night for vacation...got my fingers & toes crossed hoping for no heavy rain or snow.

    Getting very excited now...:3gears:

Previous owner called me Saturday morning as they were loading the car up and I was driving to San Francisco,I could hear in his voice he was sad to see the reality of this car finally leaving his possession and wanted first dibs if I ever decided to part with her...he really is one of the good guys.

Driver told me Sunday is what we're shooting for if there are no delays,I'm hoping that is the case...arrival pictures to follow.:kodak:

Owner also sent me this picture that was taken when the car was being photograhed for a magazine in '67,this shows the best detail of the mag drive/timing cover/crank girdle dad fabricated and I have a funny feeling the first two words out of his mouth after he see's this will be "crank trigger",lol:

    Chassis detail,basically dad's version of a Logghe:

This is such a cool story! I'm so glad this car is going home to Papa. I'm partial to '67 GS's so naturally I think this is the best lookin' 60's funny car of all time. I'm really impressed with Ron Pelligrini's(sp?)attention to detail in making that body. He really captured almost every little detail of a real 67 GS. I'm looking forward to your future posts. Good luck in your restoration!

P.S. What's up with those wheels? In the old pics the wheels were much brighter than whats showing now. Did the previous owner do something to make them look grungy? I can't wait to see them polished up!

Thanks man,I would tend to agree with you on Pelegrini's work, the attention to detail is amazing.Current owner says being as heavy as it is has saved it over the years, most of the bodies were so lightweight they'd delaminate over the years and lose their strength.

I'm guessing the wheels are original magnesium and have turned dark grey over the years.Owner wanted to have a more original "barn find" look to his restoration hence the unpolished wheels...it's on my list of first things to do.

    john,
those wheels are the same color when i first saw the car. need some cleaning.
the pic of the timing cover is cool. i dont think that would be to hard to make. the mag could have been a chevy by the looks of the length to get by the lower pulley. still think its an easy project.

i'm still mad at my wife about this car......

I still think that thing would look good at our First annual BOP event on May 30th.

Plans are still up in the air at this time but we are considering all opportunities and events to display Ingenue.
My plan is to certainly bring this car to the events people want to see it at but I first need to see which direction to go with this project.

I've been following this thread since day 1. This is an awesome car. :TU:

What kind of camera are you using? The pictures have a vintage look to them.

Actually...I must apoligize...I don't own a scanner so I'm taking pictures of pictures hence...the lousy quality.

I do promise to shoot "real" pictures of it when it arrives.:TU:
