Bring your raft, your mud boots and your own haybail. If this event goes off be prepared to pay for any extras like in the past. This is probably what the staging lanes will look like.
Kinda makes you think twice about leaving your car there at night doesn't it? Especially down at the finish line end where we are always at....
I hope the owner of the track does not jerk the club around like he did in '98, forcing a move to Columbus in '99.
I doubt if the event will be held.............. think about all of this........mud removal :eek2: the track will be soaked in about 2-4 inches of mud that will have to be rinsed off the track and all of the other parking areas. Not to mention if the timing gear got damaged. (if it got removed before the water got there maybe) but the massive amount of clean up that cant be done untill the water has dropped about 8-10 feet will be the deciding factor. So I will just wait to hear how they do ..........I want to go but Im not going if I have to sweep mud away ............o No:
It's looking like my inaugural visit to BG will be post-poned! I feel bad for the GSCA and especially for the owners of Beech Bend. I hope they have an insurance policy that includes flood insurance!
I ripped them from the beachbend site ... ... I dont do well in the extreme heat, and one year In the '90's I just couldn't take it any longer and actually went for a dip in that river - it was barely flowing and I had to sit down and splash water/mud? on myself. I would NEVER have thought it could swell like this
Welp, looks like that event won't be happning. Looks like 15+ feet of water to me.To much damage, to little time. Think the BPG event July30-Aug1st will be the place to be for a Buick event this year. See you there.
