A stunning 59 Electra ragtop and she's standing there like she has to poop... Poor girl, her family probably never let her live that one down... Keep 'em coming, - that 62 Cat is stunning; - a shame to see it in the snow, but then again, that's where they drove half the year...
I like the old Consolidated Freight, or as we truck drivers called them, "Corn Flakes" twin pups in the background. Too bad they're out of business. Pretty sure I have a one of either a 59 or 60 Buick convert in my fathers photos. It belonged to a coworker of his in the early 60's. I'll have to look for it.
This is my Dad with his (my) car circa 1979. Car show at downtown park Columbus, Georgia. The Columbus newspaper took this photo, and put the photo on the front page of the Sunday paper
Priceless. Why couldn't I be alive back then? At least I get to live now when people actually drive their cars.. Great stuff!
Hi Matt :gp: like that snowy shot. Previous thread to possibly avoid some duplications... http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?308705-Pictures&highlight=buick+pictures Some of my older threads have lost the pictures due to having used up my space on the website, but this thread is new enough that hasn't happened yet.
I was perusing these old pics and had to do a double take... Downtown Manitowoc, Wi. The BUD silos are now considered a national landmark. The bottles were almost sand blasted away a few years ago; then a reprieve! ws, just up the road a bit... https://www.google.com/maps/@44.088...LYmO_GmMIKkU2HIJPg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1
These pics remind me of the era I grew up in. I never thought that all those cars I saw everyday would be such a novelty to look at in later years. Thanks, Brian. The "firebomb" looks a lot like the honed dingleball convertible in the 4th pic. I couldn't see the horns on it though.
Jerry, For me it was a simpler and less complicate time. The ones with people also in the pictures really take me back. This is a perfect example. I remember riding my bicycle past one of these on my bike while it was parked on the street and still shiny new.
First off, thanks for this thread. I think it has been the most enjoyable one I've seen it a long time. But now I'm confused. Post #59, photo #4. That `65 Skylark looks to be, for all practical purposes, a Skylark, yet it appears to have a completely different color roof than the rest of the car as opposed to the halo roof. An optical illusion, or was this an option on the Skylark? Can't say I've ever seen it before other than on a Gran Sport. Perhaps I should pose this question in another area.
