Max Damage I'm working on it!

The redline stickers reminded me of something. When I was a little kid (late 60's) my dad has a guy that came out to his car lot and offered to put "whitewalls" on any car with blackwalls.

He jacked up the car enough to spin the wheel with a little motor and had a tool that cut a groove in the tire sidewall. Then he has a roll on paint applicator.

I suppose that roll on paint applicator with red paint would have done the trick too.

    Crazy!

I installed a new Derale transmission cooler and lines through the frame on my Skylark. I used 6an fittings and black hose. Looks so much better then what I had on there for many years.

It’s unseasonably warm here in MN so I started a few of the cars and let them run a bit. Close to 70 degrees here in Feb., wow. People actually golfed in Minnesota in January and February this year!

Today at -22 C (about -10F) I stared longingly at the wildcat, then pushed the button to warm up the truck. No winter tires and a little snow means she stays where she is. Thursday though.....

Prepped the new smoked glass that goes in the drag car. Had to remove the hardware and install on the new glass. Also removed the roof weatherstripping chrome so it can get painted up in there... 20240305_125725.jpg

Probably nothing - at least for a while today. It's supposed to be the dry season here right now, but apparently the weather Gods didn't get the message. We were way over the rain average for February, and right now we are in the midst of a thunderstorm and it's pouring. Everything is still green and the local public works facility has a Smokey the Bear sign up that reads Fire danger LOW. That's practically unheard of here in March. Ironically, it was a very dry wet season last summah.

Yeah, It's been much wetter than normal this year. That might effect my choice of vehicle to take to Waterboy's shindig on the 16th. I was planning to take the GS400, but now it's going to be a game day decision...

Yes my new trailer is Buick related, it only hauls Buicks . Got my leveling hitch and anti-sway bar installed today, helps tremendously, and not hard to do. Still other things to add before BG trip.

Pat where did you order your glass from?

It's actually from Auto City Classics. They go to Carlisle and my buddy had ordered windows from them for his 32 coupe. I looked at the windows for A bodies and liked the smoked glass. They sell on Ebay and I just bought the 5 pieces from them there instead of waiting. I can't wait to finish the 1/4's and get the car painted. I think these are going to look great. And, this is not a film they put on.It's actual tinted glass.

Got the rest of the MSD Grid installed on the Hawk. Computer is reading the sensors and now I gotta make some hits to see what s going on to finally get it off the line and down the track. Probably gonna have to settle for TnT night but a private track rental would be way better.
