I thought the Skyhawk was tied done secure sitting on the wood flooring but when I got to my destination and opened the door the rear was 4" over to the R . First time its happened.
I may have to give it some more thought, nothing worse than not feeling confident dragging a trailer around the country.
Painted up the re-cored radiator trying to get parts staged and ready for assembly , so many parts so much to do.
I got a 70 core from an Electra about 15yrs ago sitting in my garage...I wish I knew how to build a motor. Would love to send it off somewhere to get machined and then build but I have zero clue.
YouTube ! And there’s books. Oh, and buddies at Car Shows/cruises, that would be happy to give a hand or advice.
Had to get a sandwich. Soccer moms were taking note and not in an approving manner. It's just a 72 Special. Nothing to crazy Winds up to 70 mph forecasted today. 50* outside. A bit chilly It's a really quiet car. Not sure what the caution was about
Finished up my line lock install on my Stage 2 project, wired it so the dash brake light will come on when it’s activated.
Gathered heater assembly components (already painted), old & new gaskets, lil jars of hardware, new heater core. Have to figure out the heater control valve thingamajig. Cut/installed defroster tubing, blower motor housing & kick panel vent doors.
Road Trip!!! Today I drove the GS400 210 miles south to Waterboy's for his South Florida get together. Nice drive and the car did great! I think this was Hwy 60 in Lake Wales, FL.
I also hit the road to Waterboys get together. Made a stop on the way and picked up a slide in truck camper to help make my BG camping exp even better. Will unload the Hawk in a few hours and make some Tomahawk noise.
I changed the oil and readjusted the adjustable upper rear control arms that came loose on my Skylark. The jam nuts had came loose and they adjusted themselves too long, all better now. Next, I need to get the convertible up on jack stands and take a few measurements to send to Modern Driveline for the TKX 5-speed I'm planning to order soon to replace the Super T-10 that's in there now.
All new ball joints today. And then realized what the banging noise was. Apparently my shims fell out on the upper an arm. Passenger upper a arm was loose SMH
Made it the 420 mile trip to Waterboy's. Car did awesome and had a blast!! This is Hwy 98 in Lakeland about 10:00 tonight: Only issue i had was the spring isolator on the right front baled on me, somewhere on the way down. When I hit a dip in the road it makes a loud groaning noise.
Hell yes, nice! I did this same thing when I had my '71 GS. What a difference. Now those are poppin'.
