Mike and his uncle are going to reach out to me this week. Mike said his uncle is excited to speak with me. I literally can't wait to hear the stories.

I try to Imagine somebody calling me and saying.

"Remember that blue 1967 Pontiac LeMans hardtop with the blue vinyl buckets, console and 4 speed that your father purchased new?"

But I cannot wrap my head around hearing those words.

Hey Jason, how did you manage to locate the info on your car?

My GSX was sold new in Mineral Wells, Texas and I spoke with Edna at the Texas DMV and she told me that there was no point in me submitting a Request for Information form, as they will not release the names of previous owners of my car. I gave her the VIN over the phone and she did a quick search to tell me how many owners it has had, but she can only go back to 2001.

    Am I missing something?

    Cheers

In my case, 508 came with all the original paperwork- sales contract, warranty receipts, registration documents from the original owner.

Phillip Brooks purchased 508 on May 13, 1970. He paid $5522 for it. He traded in a 68 riviera and put down $500. The payments were $129 for three years.

Slightly off topic but on topic I remember back in the 80's my mother was paying 18% or more on her mortgage, like being a single mom working at a magazine publisher raising me on her own mostly wasn't hard enough. I'm paying 1.99% lol.

Off Topic Warning - Most people in current times do not realize how unusually low interest rates are today.

I don't believe this situation is likely to last much longer.

Same situation here in WV. We have a Request for Information form, but they will not give you anything for privacy reasons.

He must have financed it with GM or dealer for the 12.83 %. When I purchased my '70 new Chevelle, I financed with a bank loan at 8% for 3 years at $125 monthly. No idea what the finance company rate would have been but guess about 14%.

The first two pics were taken in Sept 70. Car was 4 months old! And the front spoiler is still bent the same way. So it's likely the original spoiler.

Phil drove it to Texas, it was in California and Kansas.

Spoke to Tony who was Phil's brother in law. I found out why the drivers door was repainted- Phil's wife borrowed the X and it got hit in a parking lot. Phil's brother in law said Phil was verrrry particular about the car and was not a happy camper when that happened.

Tony remembered driving past the dealership and seeing the GSX on the front line. He commented to his wife, "I found Phil's new car" . Phil was a big buick guy according to Tony. Shortly thereafter Phil bought it!

Phil kept the car into the early 90s

I like the guy in the suit with the highwater pants. That's what badass looks like back in the day. Can just see him slammin' through the gears from a stop light.

I think momma sewed that outfit herself. I don't think Woolworths had one of those pants suits. I can hear her saying to the sales lady "Hun.....do you have anything in Saturn Yellow with a black GSX stripe around the lapel of the jacket? No? Well I guess I'll have to get the sewin' machine out."

Great! I know it’s poor photo quality but the 4mo X looks dingy, the clothes look dingy, the lawn looks dingy. I guess in 1970 we had 2 finishes Rachael Welch, or dingy
